Awesome, love the official confirmation of Watashi ni xx Shinasai!. I doubt I'll be getting it until around Christmas, but it's definitely on my list of wants now.

Along with a new bookshelf, but I digress...

Is it just me or does Danza's artstyle kinda resemble Scott Pilgrim?

Ono's been doing her style long before Scott Pilgrim ever came out.

That's funny because I'm sure that's the first thought that's going to come to mind when it hits book shelves. That was my first thought when I saw the pic. I'm actually interested in seeing this. Wink

I've been meaning to read Watashi ni xx Shinasai! in scan-lated form for some time, but since it was licensed, I'll just take a peek at some pages to see if they pique me. Then I'll hold off reading those until they're released for me to get those from TRSI.

Always happy to add more Ono to my book shelf. I love her unique art style and classy "Autumn in Europe" atmosphere. Her work must be selling if they keep bringing them over.

Hey, Kodansha, when are you going to continue releasing Alive: The Final Evolution by Toka Adachi? Are you really going to leave it at 8 out of 21 volumes?

(On an upsetting note: does anyone else care about that title?)

It could have been worse. I want to see more Nodame Cantabile; I've got the 16 translated volumes (and had v17 on order before it was cancelled), but there are 7 more to go in the main series... I'd like more Moyas(h)imon, too, but I've only invested two books worth in that one. There are several Del Rey/Kodansha series that could be resumed, but probably won't be. There are plenty of series from them and others that I've bought that have been left incomplete. <sigh>

I don't. ^^; I bought the first seven books before giving them away to someone. I started getting bored with the series after the first few books, and only barely got myself to v7.

I feel your pain, Ingraman. I love Moyashimon, and I was very excited to purchase both volumes (I usually read manga via libraries, so when I actually decide to purchase something as a collector it's a big deal for me). The second volume was filled with author's notes about how excited Ishikawa was about his manga being printed in America and wondering how English readers would receive it...

With sadness, because it was *dropped after two volumes!* It's rare that a title as funny and quirky as Moyashimon is also genuinely educational. Here's hoping that the new anime will create a buzz that brings the series back into print!

There are only sixteen out of 25 volumes of Nodame Cantabile available in the States!? That's just frustrating!

As for Alive, I like it , but I'll readily admit that it's probably because it's heavily influenced by superhero comics.

I do! I also miss Moyashimon and Nodame Cantabile.

That doesn't mean I'm not happy with these licenses, I'm interested in both. Well, I haven't read that much of Last Order yet because it's suffering from OOPness, but if Kodansha would be kind enough to reprint earlier volumes in omnibus format... Well, if they have the proper license, I mean.

I'm not sure if Kodansha can do that. Kishiro stopped Last Order with one publisher, and resumed it at another. Did the earlier books go with him, or did they stay at the old publisher? The story about 'Say Hello to Black Jack' stated that that manga's creator was able to take his manga away from the publisher, but Kishiro Yukito do that? If they stayed, I don't think that Kodansha's going to be able to touch them, and you'll have to wait for Viz to re-print them. Is Viz likely to do that, if they can't finish the story? ^^; What did happen, in the end (of the publishing saga, not the story! ;p )? I haven't bothered looking at the Japanese printings when I get to the near-local Kinokuniya...
