I agree with Soundmonkey44. Why on earth would anyone steal a magnifying glass? Well,the police will probably find it. Who knows? Maybe Sherlock Holmes and Scooby-Doo would help out in this endeavor. I don't know.

Vandalism, maybe?
Or maybe the yakuza are making a move.
Possibly some drunk teens were messing around in the park and didn't think that the magnifying glass wasn't made in a single piece with the rest of the statue?
Understanding the basics of "why people steal" can't be that dumbfounding.
