Hmm, I'm uneasy about this. I know absolutely zero about Sohei Niikawa - he may be, like, the greatest company president evar for all I know. What I do know is that I was extremely happy with NISA's anime output under out-going prez Haru Akenaga, so I hope this change doesn't effect anything in that regard. The notice doesn't specifically say so, but I'm assuming Sohei Niikawa will continue to be president of the parent company and the American subsidiary. I think I prefer the idea of having those two positions filled by different people.

Crap on a stick, I really despise change when things ain't broken.

As long as they don't jack their prices up any higher I don't care. They want Japanese prices here I am sure. I don't

How do you know what Sohei Niikawa wants that?

Maybe they might actually dub some of their titles now? Cool

I guess we will find out in the next few months what this means for the direction of the company and if there are any significant changes. I wouldn't mind some dubs every now and then for some of their products, but aside from that I'm relatively pleased with what they offer. Hopefully if there are any changes it will be bringing more titles over. I don't want to speculate on all the possible negative scenarios since you could just work yourself up over possibly nothing.

Wow thats some harsh comments. Nikawa is awesome, he was at Anime Expo last year and will be there this year. He is a fun guy walking around in his prinny cap and really seems to reach out to NIS fans. Plus he helped with the creation of Disgaea one of my favorite game series of all time.

Honestly, I give two squirrel farts about NIS as an anime distributor. There games are all I care about. Although to there credit, they have put out some solid titles in the anime department.

Yeah and your grammar is something you should care about too. You obviously don't buy any games from NIS since you're underage so your support means nothing.

I'm a huge NISA anime fan. I have every box. They had better not change a thing! Keep up pumping out the boxes as is and give us BD and DVD combo packs when they can do so. Subbed is perfectly fine with me if it means they keep their overhead down. Subbing anime costs a lot of money and I don't want them to overreach and go the way of so many anime companies.

Many of my anime purchases over the past year have been NISA titles, and I'm likely to buy several more. They tend to license the shows I like. I hope they continue, because they certainly put out a nice product!

I agree subs are fine. Dubs generally are poor, add sometimes years to release dates and drive cost ever higher for something I'll never utilize. The NIS titles I have are all well done and are titles I actually wanted.

Japanese acting sometimes sucks too, ya' know.

Also, when is the last time you have watched a dub? If it's before 1995 I'm going to shake my head and sigh.

It takes like 3 weeks for one actor to do a character's voice, and most of the time the actors record at roughly the same time.

"I don't use it, f*ck everyone else because my opinion is the only one that matters!"

Dear god.

Without knowing how well they do with their anime titles it's hard to say but this may suggest that they are going to focus more on their game titles .. and IMHO that would not be a bad thing.

I have a couple of their anime titles (Toradora! and WAGNARIA!!) and their releases are nice and my preference is always to support licencors, but if these had not been licenced I could have at least watched a fansubbed version (Or in WAGNARIA!!'s case on CR).

However, that option does not exist for PS3 and PSP games. I own quite a few NISA games (All the Atelier games, Disgaea 4, Ar Tonelico 3, Neptuna Mk2), and there is no way I could have played the Japanese versions. I'd be happy to give up a few quality anime releases if it means more localised games.

Man, I'm tired and I need to go to bed, but I'm just gonna say that I wouldn't have to do this stuff if people could keep their own negative opinions out places where they aren't needed.

I hope they maintain or improve their excellence. They have release a few of my favorite games and anime, so I wish them the best.
