This series went down the crapper really fast after part II, which was the last great game in the series.
Nothing wrong with portable titles, I mean look at MGS : Peacewalker, now THAT right there, is probably the #1 example of doing it right. Even without "Standard" camera controls via second stick, it was an incredible game. Recoded... three six five-whatever-the-hell they called it, Chain of memories with that so-so card system... and then the remakes almost each of those games had O_o SE dropped the ball, and so did Disney once they started sticking their hands in Pixar's cookie jar. Idiots that can't write the magic like they did years ago sought to buy out the competition and us viewers are stuck with sub-par Disney movies that don't excite, move, or ottherwise inspire us as human beings. Movies like Beauty and The Beast, Pinocchio, Snow White; those days are long gone and just like SE, We will never get "new attempts" at something fresh like Ehrgeiz, Einhander, hell even another Chocobo's Dungeon game or racing game. THAT Squaresoft is gone as well replaced with a lackluster company and a quack like Toriyama that has clearly lost his touch over the years and a "play-it-safe-lets-milk-this-puppy" guy like Nomura that turned this very series into a "just give us part 3 already and end this already." kind of feeling. I guess birds of a feather is the best way to describe these two companies now. Hell they're practically made for one another when you look at it this way, so it makes sense. |
