Haven't played the games, but I liked the idea behind them. Is it worth picking up a copy of each?

Haha, awesome.

I played the first and 2nd one's English releases, and have enjoyed the weirdness of both games.

This is one of the best news bits I've seen in a while. Thank you Japan! This has been ripe for an anime.

The first game has a decent story and sub-par gameplay.

The second game has decent gameplay and sub-par story.

The second game also reboots the setting.

So... up to you.

Yeeeeeeees. This is some damn good news. I wouldn't be surprised if NISA picks this up after it airs.

I've enjoyed the game series so far, cute & zany, I hope the anime is equally entertaining.

Now if only we could get a proper Disgaea anime made, now that would be something (the existing one is abit too B grade Satam toon imo.)

Now I can be bored to tears at 24 fps (or 14fps more likely)

Haha wow. It was only a matter of time. I'm curious about who they get as the animation studio hopefully it isn't JC staff or deen. Looking forward too it either way.

Given how the games' humor rely on a bunch of one-liners, and the characters (while cute and funny) are pretty shallow, I'm not sure how this will translate into 12-13 episodes of story. But, it's worth a try I guess.

And yes, we do need an Atelier anime. Atelier Rorona/Totori has plenty of story.

Edit: If they adapted the 'Conquest Ending' in Neptunia II into the anime, that would be awesome, though.

The games have paper thin stories but they can easily make a cour (or even two) of material out of it. The plots are mainly there as a springboard for the comedy (well, that was the case in the first game; the second takes its story more seriously, which hasn't been a good thing in the 2-3 chapters I've played of it) and they can easily fill it with as much fluff as they want, since that's the main reason the show should be good. Or they could pretty much write their own story and just use the Neptunia characters and concept as a base.

Would have been a great thing to do for the Totori Vita re-release, like was done for Persona 4, but since its coming out this year, that's obviously not going to happen.

I dont know. There are no male characters in the series, and in my experience shows like this that are all female cast are terrible ( and no I dont like Madoka); I hold the same view point for all male casts.
