For the cost of it, I downloaded it. It's not bad. Would come in handy if you were ever planning to take a trip to Japan and wanted to include an Eva tour of the region in your itinerary. I might add such a trip to my itinerary, along with Shirakawa-go (the real-life inspiration for Hinamizawa in Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni and its sequels).
From only a quick look at the "Eva Map", it looks like spoiler[it is using the Rebuild continuity rather than the TV, as it refers to the Sixth Angel appearing over Lake Ashi - this alludes to Ramiel who was the fifth in the TV series, while Gaghiel, the sixth in the TV series appeared in the Pacific and did not appear at all in the first two Rebuild movies)]. |

There isn't much to see, given that "Tokyo-3" doesn't exist yet.
The only places of note are geographic areas around Hakone, i.e. when Shinji runs away to the mountains after his first Angel fight. Or how "Tokyo-3" is on the shores of Lake Ashi --- they did a good job of matching up the skyline with real-life hakone, all the mountains are in the right place. That and the train station, the train station is real. Otherwise its fun, but not really as if its a show set in real-life locations. |
