It was a given this would get an anime at some point... its well received by both fans and critics, and its exactly what otaku want out of an anime.

Whats surprising is that its Madhouse. Maybe they're finally realizing they can't survive in this anime climate by making arthouse stuff.

Lol. Inb4 300 replies and 280 images omitted.

AFAIK, it's the sponsors (Kadokawa et al) who picked Madhouse to animate it (through bidding). Well, Madhouse can't reject a project.

Yeah, taking pictures of girls without their consent doesn't make you a sex offender at all.

I guess they moved on from milquetoasts to straight-up sex offenders.

You are correct.

It does not.

Anyway, something about that cast list tells me that Tomoe will end up being the best heroine.

Oh sure, it may not make you a SO in the eyes of the law but it's still creepy as hell.

I looooooooooove Madhouse's recent stuff like Redline, Tatami Galaxy and Summer Wars but it's not like the studio has never made otaku stuff before! They're the folks behind Galaxy Angel, Strawberry Panic and Pita Ten, right? Plus Madhouse has been dumping a lot of cool artist-driven projects like "The Dreaming Machine" (nooooo), and a lot of their "arty" staff has left the studio to make their projects elsewhere (like "Kids on the Slope")... So I think a lot of us saw the writing on the wall for Madhouse's "arthouse" projects, at least for the time being :(

Ummmm dude I don't think the article said that the guy was taking pictures without the ladies' permission! I got the impression that the girls volunteer to be models. The gameplay I've seen has them smiling and posing and dancing around like in Idolm@ster! It's verrrry goofy but not creepy or voyeuristic.

Yea...the game is pretty much a dating sim with photography gameplay added.

With the Vita port coming out next year, the anime is a perfect tie-in.

I was thinking of picking up the PSP version, but might as well skip that and add the Vita game to the list of Vita titles I would play whenever I buy the system.

I don't get how they are going to animate a dating sim.

Interested. Just hope it doesn't turn out to be another chaos head but since it doesn't seem to have a complicated plot it shouldn't be that bad.

Akitoshi Yokoyama is easily one of the best directors in the industry, so I've always wanted to see him direct a TV series. This is definitely not what I had in mind for him, but I will watch the show regardless.

Same way all the other anime based on dating sims have been animated.

Yeah. Don't forget there the ones that animate ecchi stuff like High School of The Dead.

He begins taking pictures of the girls at his school, and the photos may lead to romance.

No, that wouldn't happen IRL. Just wouldn't.

Well, depends if the low-esteem girl(s) be flattered, like IIRC in American Beauty. Laughing
