SO EXCITED!!!!!!

While I'm very happy for a BD release, I'm wondering how come they were able to get it for season 3 (and assuming season 4 as well) yet they weren't able to for the first two seasons. I'm hoping for a BD re-release for those two!

This news totally made my day. =DDD

It amazes me that idiots hate still on NISA. They are an awesome company and they get major brownie points for announcements such as this.

This is just a guess but Natsume seasons 1 & 2 were originally released DVD only in Japan and then later on BR.

Seasons 3 & 4 were on BR from the beginning.

So it comes in a fancy set with DVD and Blu-Ray together? Perfect! Since I don't have a Blu-Ray player, but still feel that I should be herding my media collection in that direction henceforth, this way I don't have to choose between formats. And Natsume is definitely worth collecting in any format.

That is correct. However NISA licensed the series after the BD box for the first two seasons was already released, iirc.

If they re-release the first two seasons in BD format I will shower them with more of my money. If not, well, I already have the Japanese BDs.

Didn't realize there was a Season 4. Great news, regardless of my ignorance about that. As has been proclaimed: bring 'em on and I'll shower you with my money also NISA.

Yesss, more of a good thing! I'm a bit sad to hear that S3 and 4 won't be included together, but that's only because I'm really impatient to own the whole series. I wonder if that means NISA is planning to release S4 over the summer. It would seem an optimal time (August would be perfect for me since I've got a birthday that month...just throwing it out into the world).

Anyway, love this show and I'll definitely be picking this up. <3

Season 4 is scheduled to be released in July. You can have your birthday present a little early. =P

I was hoping that season 3 would be bundled with 4, but there's no way I would ever complain over something like this, as I'm just so glad we're even getting the entire series in the first place. I like how it's going to be DVD and Blu-Ray. Smile Will keep an eye out for when season 3 goes up for preorder on NISA's site! Also the illustration on the cover is gorgeous...

People seem to forget, when a US company fails to release a BD of an anime the fault is more often than not, on the Japanese side. It's very likely that Nisa tried to get rights to release the first and second series on BD but were rejected.

I am fully aware of this, which is why I was surprised they they were able to get the third season on BD. Wondering why they were able to for the third (and fourth??) season yet not for the first two.

Just saying that I hope they'll be able to release the first two seasons on BD too.

Season 4 is sooo good too, especially the last 3 episodes.

It made me realize I had to start reading the manga in case the anime doesn't finish the story (which I'm still hoping for)

And although I already said it on the Retail forum I have to echo what everyone else is saying. I am actually glad Natsume is getting 3 sets instead of two because now I get to display 3 beautiful sets on my shelf. Smile

Looking forward to this! I'll get my pre-order in as soon as I see the listing on RS.
