I was going to say it was too raunchy but it's actually tame as kittens compared to Queens Blade or even Strike Witches. So the only reason I can come up with is that there simply isn't enough interest in it to justify a license.

You know how Roswell fans saved the series from cancellation twice by mailing huge quantities of tabasco sauce to the producers? What if thousands of American fans sent in vibrating dildos to Sentai asking them to pick up the license?

The sex jokes are no more extreme than what'd you see in some awful TV comedy once starring an actor who used to be in good movies by Oliver Stone. It's more observation and implication than anything actually explicit. If SYD had aired in the era of "Sentai grabs every new airing title regardless of quality", I'm sure it'd have been scooped up immediately. It come out just a bit too early for that to occur.

Lawl that might work in all honesty, hopefully it would shake things up and make them do a sub only release. Now I do think there is interest here for the series fans just need to speak up nasty sex jokes or not. Now imagine if funimaiton picked this up and did raunchy dub with their roster of va's... it would be the best dub ever.

Given what happen to Tenchi Mayo GPX this Saturday on Cartoon Network cenoring the face mark in the episode so the viewers couldn't understand the point of the eposide maybe it's better that not pickup for airing in the USA. Mad

Toonami didn't do that. It's meant to be a joke and up to the viewers imagination as what it could possibly be that would require a censor

That's a good question as these OVAs are used to sell manga collections but as a four panel gag series, it's weird to use its animated counterpart as a selling point.

Seeing how the first went out of its way to point out that it only adapted the first two books, there's plenty of material. The simplest explanation is that the OVAs are being paid for by the manga publisher for fans of the TV series but for a new season, there's not much of a selling point for anyone else.

It's one of my favorite comedies with some incredible performances but a second season would be a "more of the same" situation, relying on a new character or two in order to inject some life into it but still not advancing any real narrative, unlike other four panel gag series like Azumanga Daioh {sort of, I mean it counts as one story, right?} or B Gata H Kei {which really needs a second season}.

I would love to see more of this done. I found it funny as hell, and loved the characters.

This is one of those "Lost in translation" shows - if a company like Funi picked it up, would you want to see it dubbed? I wouldn't, as it would lose a lot of what makes it funny. The delivery is important.

Well I still think they can deliver on the sex jokes just right and would give me reason to watch the dub then the sub again.
