But then I read the rest...
I sure hope they won't pull some BS and release something like "FF XIII-4, the final chapter in Serah's story"... and so on. |

The game looks pretty awesome... Especially since it looks like it is, in fact, an Action RPG (just as I've been expecting the whole time) with Paradigms changing your abilities and stuff. Liked XIII, haven't touched XIII-2 since I got the mission where I have to travel through time and collect a bunch of random objects (and its just not as good as XIII). Anyways, since Lightning is a pretty cool character, an Action-RPG focusing on Lightning will be pretty cool.

I don't get what you are complaining about. Graphically it actually looks alot better then XIII and XIII-2. It's just really low quality trailer. I would love to see what it looks like with a HD trailer that wasn't so low quality. |

In no way does it look better then XIII, which is an incredibly visualy great game. Now regardless of gemorty and what not, XIII did'nt have slowdown. Pretty much every field part of that trailer had some pretty bad looking slowdown. Which is something XIII-2 had. I guess this is the trade off for bigger enviorments, but I mean who would want that if it also means the enviorments look so lame? I mean it is just a trailer, but those enviorments looked pretty low detailed and not really populated. Even the battle screen enviorment looked like wallpaper. Reminded me of the PS1 games. To put it simple the enviorments looked pretty low quailty, lacking detail and scale. They looked like wallpaper and with the chocoalina lady in one shot, I wonder how interactive will they be? Even though XIII-2 had bigger enviorments they werent really populated with anything, it looks like XIII-3 will be the same. http://i2.minus.com/iRQybgSwgsZB9.png And it looks like it will play like the Lightning XIII-2 DLC. Thats a big turn off. |

I love the franchises, but Square Enix needs to just give FF and KH a rest for a while. XIII was pretty good, but showed signs of lacking inspiration, and as far as I'm concerned, XIII-2 was a cash grab with a cheap ending. There's plenty of talent in the company, and seeing them break out some new IPs, as well as deliver sequels to IPs that have been neglected too long (The World Ends With You, for example), would be a nice change of pace. Then they could take what they learn from half a decade to a decade of creativity and apply it to some new entries.
Wait, wait... that's right, most game corporations these days only give a damn about what sells, and not taking risks. *sigh* Nevermind. Guy can dream, can't he? |

The first time I watched it was from that terrible GT site and the quality was really bad. But I just found it on you tube and yeah it's got some really bad slow down. I had thought that was just the low quality of the GT trailer but it seems it was really just a bad frame rate in the game itself. Also with it being in clearer HD(that GT link was so terrible it's laughable) the environments do look pretty bland. I think Lightnings character model looks better then she did in the last 2 games but that's about it. Hopefully the slow down is just because the game isn't finished yet but even still SE should not have shown it with slow down like that. It could really be a deal breaker if the frame rate is that bad. |

Agreed... It was annoying enough that XIII-2 looked worse than the first one, but that trailer was just awful. (Especially the battle background, just so low quality/dull looking.) Hopefully the end product will look better than that... And already I'm losing interest. When they released those first few presentation videos, the ideas made it sound more promising than XIII-2. But it didn't look like much from this trailer. Playing solo-party in Lightning's DLC was painfully boring, I don't know if I want a whole game of that. (although in the presentation videos I think they mentioned something more about the fighting system, but I can't remember it now). But whinge, whinge, whinge. I'll probably play it eventually.

Looks awesome. The cheesy faux-sunglasses she has just makes it icing on the cake. Lightning's one of the best FF characters of all time. Can't wait for it to come out.

Kingdom Hearts? Hell no, what we need is SE to stop being ´pussies and announce Kingdom Hearts 3 already, we have been waiting for 6 years you know. If you mean stop with the KH remakes and little games for handhelds, they yes, stop with that BS and start working on KHIII!!! |

I for one, am looking forward to this game. With the way FFXIII-2 ended I'm really looking foward to how the story plays out.
