Excellent. I've been enjoying the current ongoing series so far and satisfied to see this news.

Sigh. I love Hyoubu, don't get me wrong, I would marry him if I could!

But attracting people to the ZKC fanbase by using only-male casts is not what I want. The great thing about ZKC is the use of a cast with an equal balance of both male and female characters. I feel as if ZKC is being degraded by Unlimited as a whole (Super Saiyan Hyoubu??? WTF???). I wanted a second season. This is not what I wanted. Sure, it may be interesting, and it's like they're giving us a teeny tidbit to say, "Hey, you waited 5 years for another season, here's a spinoff".

All I can hope for is that this does bring more dedicated fans that will buy CDs and DVDs to get a GOOD second season (PLEASE GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL CHARACTER DESIGNS). And hell, it looks kind of like it's working... I had preorderd all the character CDs 2 months ago, and I got mine later than everyone else because it was BACKORDERED because of such popular demand!

But I definitely, DEFINITELY don't want this turning into Uta no Prince-sama... There is an anime for each fanbase... Please don't ruin ours...

Anyway, I have all the CDs and the first Blu-Ray ordered... I can only hope that this time around, us fans can support the anime so much that they'll release the second season, with 13-year old Kaoru! Very Happy

ZKC never seemed to have a balance of characters to me. There always seemed to be a focus on the female characters and a strong harem element. All the girls are "in love" with Minamoto Rolling Eyes - pretty common in harem shows, but in this case having the added creepy factor of all of them being underage. I don't get the "super saiyan" reference either. There is an explanation for the "unlimited" power that spoiler[boosts his abilities but is also probably what is killing him. It was revealed in the last couple of episodes.]

It is exactly what I wanted. Obviously, I wasn't as much of a fan as you are for the original series. ZKC (original series) often meandered into cutesy filler and uneven comedy. I know for a fact that I wasn't the only person who found the three girls extremely annoying. I like the serious tone, intelligent pace and focused storytelling, in The UNLIMITED much better. It more closely suits my tastes. I do hope you get your second season of the original, but I wouldn't mind the spinoff to continue as well. I would watch more of this show, but would probably pass on a ZKC second season.

For me, the UNLIMITED is a huge improvement over the old series. Part of it is the characters seem more mature. Going backward to the original character designs would probably scare away all the new fans who are liking the way this show has been doing things. I would buy The UNLIMITED if it got an N.A. license.

Having watched both shows, I think this comparison is completely bizarre..... There is just .... no comparison, IMO. Anime dazed

Most people who are fans of ZKC are talking more about the manga and particularly the post-timeskip period which is none of the things you describe. The characters are older, it's most certainly not a harem, and there's a lot of balance between male and female characters. It's what a lot of people want to see animated.

The character designs in a second season would be pretty much exactly the same as Unlimited. Heck, some of the recent episodes are straight from the manga. Rolling Eyes

I like Unlimited too, but it gets annoying seeing people watching it and dumping on the main series without knowing how much it has in common with the manga as it has been for several years now. Its been more then four years since the Children were a bunch of whiny 10 year olds.

Does anybody know who's licensing this anime? Or if it's not licensed yet, any chance Sentai might pick it up?

But, you see, I was responding to a person who was talking about the anime, having even compared it to another anime.

You can be as annoyed as you want, but it doesn't change the fact that there are going to be people who watch The UNLIMITED without fully consulting the entirety of the manga or having watched only a few episodes of the original series. Seriously. Rolling Eyes It is a successful spin-off since it stands on its own, without depending on the viewer wading through a backlog of source material.

I don't expect anyone to read the manga, I'm just pointing out you have no idea what you're talking about in terms of what a second season would look like and why people want to see it.

Unlimited is an excellent spinoff, but there's nothing actually different about it except focusing on the antagonist and being a little more straight-laced then the main series.

Did you not read my first post? Where I acknowledged that a second season should be made for the fans of the first? ---It seems that you have your panties in a twist because I said I wouldn't watch it.

And yes, I know about the timeskip. For me it didn't fix what I found annoying about the characters. The three girls where just as annoying and all three spoiler[in love with Minamoto, along with the crying and glomping.] They even included it in this series. See episode 4 at 21:16.

Probably Sentai.

Unfortunately the manga may never be licensed, unless Viz actually cares enough to do so (they won't) or JManga gets it (they probably won't)

I was talking about the manga and anime. I agree with mad mac- It does have a balanced cast. And annoying? They're 10-13 years old. They're going to rely on the person they trust the most. Anyway, that's  not my point. (BTW:
Males in cast: Minamoto, Sakaki, Kiritsubo, Hyobu, Muscle, Kagari, Touno, Kugutsu, Yoh, Magi, Tim, Bullet, Akira, Ken, Grisham, Hanzo, and this is not counting all the characters in the past
Females in cast: Kaoru, Shiho, Aoi, Patty, Kazura, Mio, Fujiko, Momiji, Naomi, Mary, Carrie, Yuuri, Chisato, Natsuko, Hotaru, Nai, Setsuko, others)

Unlimited was OBVIOUSLY made as an anime for
Fujoshi- Remember the women who watch Hetalia and Prince of Tennis, not necessarily for the story, but for the good-looking men and yaoi fantasies? Yeah. This is who they're playing their cards to.

As a fan who lives in Japan, it will be hard for me to attend Zettai Karen Children events now without being considered a fujoshi. It makes me feel like an endangered species!

Character designs- I loved the beautiful character designs of the first season. The spinoff makes characters look... Strange... I literally cried out of disappointment when I saw what Hyoubu looked like for the spinoff in Shonen Sunday's poster when I bought my magazine. I prefer designs that are more faithful to Shiina's art style.

Unlimited is taking parts from the original manga, which I like, but I still am wondering how they would glue that into a second season. It's great that they're taking some of the great PANDRA parts from the manga (Momiji's meeting with Magi, Hyoubu's meeting with the dolphins, etc.), but we're forgetting the most important story of all- BABEL, the children of PANDRA, their present, and their future. This story keeps me glued to the page every single week.

Also, just a personal unhappiness, but I do NOT like Sayaka Ohara as Momiji. A super disappointment. She doesn't fit the boyishness that Saeko Chiba gave us in season one. I know it's because she was busy this season (with what- Minami-ke???)- but seriously. They should have tried a little harder to get her in the schedule. Motherly, fairly high-pitched Sayaka Ohara doesn't fit her at all... And not giving our beloved Patty a voice (Sanae Kobayashi)? Disappointing.

I've been a Fan of the the Unlimited since it came out. Heck i didn't realize it was spin off Zettai Karen Children until couple episode later. Since its been while i seen the original show.

Frankly i understand people feelings of a show that once was not so-serious with three annoying powerful immature ESP 10 year old girls running around having a daddy complete with the male lead.

Story behind it all was the thing got me interested in the series. PANDRA wasn't big factor to me, since it was such hardcore idea. Kill humanity and leave the ESPiers rule the world. Its cartoonish way to build a plot.

The Unlimited's edgier and refined story arch is more appealing for me. Unfortunately there alot people like same-old same-old I'm cute funny immature kid growing up style show.

I hope Unlimited manga maintains this edge that this spin off has.

Do you know what you're talking about? Half of the "serious plot" in Unlimited you're talking about LITERALLY comes from chapters of the manga! The thing is, the manga is not the "funny immature kid growing up style show" that you're thinking of. Neither is the anime. Sure, the first volume is that. Maybe even the second. But once you find out what happens in the future with Kaoru, everything changes. The entire story changes, and so does the goal. It doesn't take long. If you think yourself a dedicated fan of The Unlimited, definitely give Zettai Karen Children a harder look before you throw simple judgements at it. You will not be disappointed. Even the first anime's handling of Kaoru's present, past, and future is STUNNING. I have had my heart wrenched time after time seeing "that scene". I have cried, I have laughed, I have thought deep and hard about Zettai Karen Children. You should not look it over because it is not the emo bishonen fest Unlimited is making itself out to be (I'm sorry, but it's true. I think it's a good show, and I LOVE Zettai Karen Children characters, but it's not the same).

Yeah, those first two DVD volumes put some people off, but they like The Unlimited.

I get that you really dislike The Unlimited. But try to realize that the people who like the show are being reintroduced to the ZKC world, and may check out the manga and future projects. More fans are a good thing, no?

Of course, the way you are jumping all over anyone who like this show is just going to convince them that the fans of the series act like a bunch of know-it-all douchbags and give up.

Really dislike The Unlimited? I never said that! I in fact said in my last post that it's a good show! I'm enjoying it! It's just not what Zettai Karen Children is supposed to be. And there is absolutely no reason for name-calling, and such utterly rude name-calling at that.
