Not thrilled with the feeling seeing Team Rocket acting stupid in a Mewtwo movie with no sign of Giovanni or others is giving me.
Not to mention, the movie appears to have no human characters besides the main cast again, which based on how empty last year's movie was, isn't a good sign. I do think this movie will easily be better than last year's if for no other reason than Mewtwo alone is a bigger character and personality than Kyurem, Keldeo, Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion combined, plus the setting looks great and the five Genesect ought to make for an interesting antagonistic force. |

The upcoming episode Rocket-dan VS Plasma-dan! Nyarth and Achroma! is the prequel for this movie and involves Achroma experimenting on the Godly Genesect. First time since Mewtwo Strikes Back the movie spun off an episode of the show

This might actually be the first Pokemon movie I want to see since the 3rd one. I just got chills from seeing Mewtwo! Nothing beats the original 151!

Wait....didn't Mewtwo and Mew spoiler[erased Ash's memories] from the First Pokemon film? This technically should not be a spoiler but just in case.
How could Ash spoiler[possibly remember him] when he has to use a Pokedex to identify a Koffing? Did I missed an episode where Ash spoiler[suddenly gets his memories back?] Or did the writers retcon the history of Pokemon...again? |

Although I can't remember it, there was the special Mewtwo Returns. At least from that, he would be able to recognize Mewtwo. As for the Pokedex thing, Best Wishes! has gone overboard with him checking Pokemon. He'll re-check a Gen5 Pokemon he's already seen, and been checking old Gen Pokemon he's seen a dozen times. It's only done for the show, most likely for new, younger fans that never grew up with the older ones. |

Way back in Jouto there was an OVA where Sakaki assault Mewtwo's utopia where he took the cloned Pokemon in order to recapture him and get revenge for his betrayal. Satoshi, Kasumi, and Takeshi arrive again to help him out and in the end Mewtwo decies not to wipe their memories.
I can't speak for what the dub said, but he didn't need to do that in the sub. From what I recall Dent and Iris were surprised because they never saw a Dogars before. Homika and Satoshi chatted about their travels in Kanto for a bit originally since Homika was surprised Satoshi said he was from Kanto as well and not Isshu. |
