I'm so glad that they're including X-2 in the release. I know it's not the most popular game in the world, but I still want to play it.

Well, as someone that didn't think FFXIII was the worst abomination of mankind, I can relate to liking a franchise blacksheep.

I hope they give it a new dub. For one, the character naming system is dated, especially since nobody referred to Tidus by name. That, and we all know the second reason.

In X it managed to make sense but X-2's dialogues were really dumb since they needed to compare Tidus with Shuyin and used no names.

I would like a redub considering these. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3emTZI6ttKE

Ok Square-Enix, since you're in the mood for HD remakes (FFX, FFX-2, and now Kingdom Hearts), get to FFVII already. That's the one everyone is waiting for anyway.

I'm not sure if I'll get the FFX/X-2 HD set; I never even got around to playing FFX-2 yet, and I put in over 200 hours on FFX originally... I don't think I want to do that again lol

It's also the one that they don't have the budget to do. All they're doing with FFX/X-2 and Kingdom Hearts is basically up-resing the existing textures and models, which is easy and doesn't require a big budget, but with FFVII they'd have to rebuild the entire game from almost scratch for it to be HD ready.

Yeah. "HD remaster" is absolutely not the same a "full blown remake". The cost of remaking a game is...well, essentially the same as the cost of making a game from scratch. Probably a bit cheaper since you don't have to do any design work, you already know exactly what you're building, but I think that's by far the least cost intensive part of design for modern HD games. Arguably it is still a no brainer to remake VII but their HD remasters really have no bearing on that.

Yeah, it will be too hard to remake FFVII in HD, the game being created with basic lego blocks and all. But I do believe it wouldn't be that hard to remake FFVIII in HD Wink

This will be an interesting decision when it comes out. FFX was pretty nice to look at anyway, so if done right, an HD upgrade could be quite nice. Also the some of the extras for FFX (extra freedom on the sphere grid in particular) look interesting. On the other hand, FFX-2 was the first FF game I couldn't bring myself to finish; I'm not sure if the second time around would be different.

Those FFX-2 girls will look nice with updated visuals. Gonna get both of them on Vita.
