So just to be clear, this is going to be a series of movies? not just one?

If so, I'm okay with this.

Huh, Akira Ishida's playing the protagonist? That's interesting. I'm also curious what the kanji in the protagonist's name means; the "Makoto" looks familiar.

Also glad the production values seem better than "P4" (though the video is only 40 seconds).

Dam* it. There was a rumor that it was going to be a ufotable project but that was a pipedream i guess Sad . And the staff does not look good. I liked p4 but i don't have much faith in kishi or the writer (especcily kishi). Meguro is the only one amoung the staff that looks good. Though im glad the cast is the same.

As I'm a bigger fan of P3 than I am P4, I'm really excited to see where this series of movies goes. Please, please, please do it well guys.

Also, Makoto Yuki eh? Guess I'll have to get used to that instead of Minato. It should work, I now prefer 'Yu Narukami' over 'Souji Seta'.

Well, "P4" was animated by AIC, and the first teaser/announcement was at the end of the "P4" movie, so I always thought it was a given that this was an AIC production. Not really sure how anyone thought ufotable was doing it.

Persona 3 was more or less crap when compared to all the other entries in the series, so I place no hope or interest in this.

But, if Atlus is gonna print that money, they gotta milk it all.

LOL, yea sure, whatever you say. The rpg that revolutionized (in a positive-good way) the genre !, Im gonna take you as troll.

Its perfectly fine to not like it, you are welcome, but it was definitely not crap and this aint even debatable.

Its hard to tell for me too which one I liked more. Probably P3 just like you.

So far looking awesome. I am glad the original soundtrack is used, its part of the personality of the game, replacing the music/songs would be bad.

Im really interested to see how they handle these movies. P4 was just barely able to get all it's important content into 26 eps, this has just as much content to fit into...three or four movies? Even if the movies end up being two hours, thats still half the runtime of P4. Hope they don't dwell on S.Links...

But...who am I kidding, I'm crazy excited for this. Aigis isn't listed in the credits, so I wonder if this movie will end after spoiler[Fuuka gets her Persona.]

Wait....What?

You realize...it didn't?

Sure, they were copycats here and there but it didn't revolutionize the genre. It became a mainstream hit in the West however. There's a difference.

spoiler[ Innocent Sin/ Eternal Punishment were much more enjoyable in my experience. EP was a much better epilogue than The Answer. In a general sense, mind you. ]

On that spoiler'd note, I really hope they DON'T adapt The Answer. Made me hate everyone except for Aigis.

Except it did. It did things that no rpg before it implemented, like perfectly incorporation the sim - dating part.

I played The first persona 2 games too, its not about which was more "enjoyable", its about doing things that before it were unthinkable and and revitalized the genre.

I get that you are basically saying that if it had revolutionized the genre its elements would have been copied left and right, and since it did not happen its sufficient to conclude it didn't.

However this is rpgs we are talking about, its arguably the more explored genre in gaming, I cannot see something big (like --over the shoulder" shooting system for example) happening in rpgs.

Thats why many of us consider P3 did revolutionize the genre, which has been quite hard to do for so long and p3 did it magnificently.

Also its elements are very unique, and cannot be quite copied and incorporated into other rpgs, it would not work quite that well, without them being basically a carbon copy.

I would be interested in the copycats of the persona series. Theres none at all exploiting the same formula of the persona series, except for that new upcoming rpg that does seem to be a carbon copy of p3/p4.

And why is it that P3 became a huge hit? For the hell of it? Because it was "enjoyable"? It did not only in western lands mind you. Go do your research, it was because the original never before seen incorporated elements of P3.

That said, I wont argue which persona game was more enjoyable, as far as enjoying goes, I had a blast with all almost equally. I would have a hard time picking one over the other.

That said, I accept that for many it could not have revolutionized the genre, me and many share the other perspective thou, its not merely me saying out of nowhere.

@ Calibrator - Yes, one cannot take you seriously.

"Eternal Punishment" isn't an "epilogue." That's like saying "Digital Devil Saga 2" is an epilogue.

Indeed. Arguably Digital Devil Saga was better than P3/P4, the story was way too good. DDS was pretty much a masterpiece.

A couple sites labeled Digital Devil Saga game of the decade, Its a close call between it and persona 3, but mostly agree with rpgfan listing.

Wish we could get a DDS anime too.
