Yeah, I first heard about this future dub on ToonZone, when one trusted forumgoer gave us hints from both Hebert and Schemmel. I for one can't wait to see these episodes on Vortexx. Now the question remains, who else is staying and who will be replaced? Now it's pretty obvious that the original Kai voice actors are staying on board for their respective roles, and Kara Edwards will probably return as Goten and Videl (she's still prominent on the FUNi scene, and I definitely saw her credited as a voice on Shakugan no Shana Final). However, I'm a little iffy on Laura Bailey as Trunks, since she was replaced as Dende by Maxey Whitehead, but it's possible for her to return.

The cast was pretty good by the time of the Buu material, so hopefully they're able to retain a majority of the old cast for the Kai dub, just with even better direction and more experience under their belt.

Oh, and it's Kyle 'Hebert'. Not Herbert. Poor guy always gets his name mangled. Anime smile;

She's also going to Animazement next month, as is Sean Schemmel and Kyle Hebert. Odds are good she'll be back. I'd also say Josh Martin is also likely to return as Majin Buu and Duncan Brannan as Babidi. I wonder if Kent Williams will return as both of the Supreme Kais.

^ Kent Williams only voiced Surpreme Kai and Kibito Kai. Chuck Huber voiced Kibito.

Trunks was a larger role than Dende, so it's more likely Laura would return for that role, I'd say. Plus, she also voiced young Vegeta in a flashback, so I don't doubt she'll be back for this. It's still not clear exactly what these episodes will be like, or how many of them there will be. From the rumors I've heard, Saban helped get these episodes made, so I don't know what to expect, possibly about 13 episodes to wrap things up (it could work), or maybe a few more.

Yeah, without his Chuck E. Cheese gig, Duncan probably has a lot more free time on his hands (for the uninitiated, he was replaced by Bowling for Soup's Danny Jacobs in the recent commercials, which I see all the time on Vortexx).

So, apparently, Kyle Hebert removed his facebook status. I was wondering how long that would take.

Hopefully it'll still be done in the original voices as well, and not just as Dub only.

^ It was confirmed last November by Mayumi Tanaka that she was recording new episodes (along with Masako Nozawa and Toshio Furukawa), but this production is apparently for overseas markets.

I only heard it as a rumor.

True, and I'm sure Buu Kai be available on home video in Japan, thus (in response to the other poster above) I'm sure the Japanese audio will be available on home video in North America, as it has been for Dragon ball releases for many years now.

I'm more concerned about whether the Japanese voice actors are returning, but it's probably pretty likely, given Mayumi Tanaka's tweet some time ago.

Hebert was always a pretty decent Gohan, I suppose, so I have no complaint there. Just as long as they keep him far, far away from the narration.

I hope Schemmel can at least maintain his accceptable performance, if not improve. He's still not amazing in the role, and perhaps this is the best he's going to get, but at least he's better than he was in regular DBZ.

And I hope J Michael Tatum doesn't start taking liberties with the scripts.

Funimation takes liberties pretty consistently. If you want to watch the Japanese, watch the Japanese.

From the article wrote:

The Japanese cast recorded new episodes in November after the series' original run in Japan in March 2011.

They're coming back. No worries.

What sage advice. Except the English version should reflect the Japanese version as close as possible. It's supposed to represent the Japanese version but with the convenience of being in a language English-speakers understand. If you take too many liberties it becomes a different show altogether.

Kai's dub has so far done a good job of reflecting the Japanese version, but after the Freeza arc the scripts began to take a few more liberties than before that point and I don't want to see them stumble.
