I mean the Two-Mix opening is a freaking Michal Bay Film in terms of explosions.

But at the same time, things like happening is better than an actual bomb.

Judging by my own tastes when it comes to the series, I'd wadger the bomb episodes are just as popular and exciting as episodes when Shinichi is able to grow back up for a day, Conan or Haibara interracting with the Black Org, or when Kaito kid arrives.
I mean, most episodes are the same formula of person A already dead, let's find out who and why. So when an episode has some real suspense and something different, the fans tend to get REALLY excited about it.

As for this article, OMG that's freaking hilarious!! Anime hyperD

There's only been one opening for DC by Two-Mix, this one.

I was thinking more along the lines of the movies and Conan's tendency to have the building or boat the movies set on explode or burn down.
