Yes, there are other ways to get a Blu-ray of the movie to fans outside of Japan. But, these involve surrendering rights to the movie for large swaths of the world, for lengthy expanses of time

its on the kickstarter page... i also just backed my first kickstarter..

Once this gets a news story on Crunchyroll, I will not be surprised to see this get an English dub.

I hope they will add a cheaper option for a bare-bones Blu-ray. Paying $65 (with shipping) just to get the movie doesn't sit well with me.

The international release of the OVA version costed about the same. This time it comes with physical extras. It's also slightly cheaper than the original Japanese limited edition.

If I can go out and buy the Blu-ray of the OVAs at any time, I won't be in a rush to drop a ton of money on a kickstarter just for a few extras.

Blu-ray of Time of EVE: The Movie with English subtitles and bonus features, 40-page art book, 8 character cards, digital art package (background art, storyboard art, and character art), digital halo, and special thanks on our facebook page.

Don't forget it's a pledge, not a store. You're financing something, not just buying a copy of the movie.

You would have to buy the original and ship it from Japan, plus all of the extra content will also be subtitled in this release, and it will be region-free too.

Wow, $10,000+ already, didn't think this was that popular. Hopefully it gets to the goal. I contributed, even though I already have the OVA, I would still buy this.

Wow, I want this on Blu Ray and surprise a publisher didn't pick it up... guess I'll kickstart my first one.

edit: well it won't have an english dub for this release (after reading the description of what is included on the Blu Ray). I don't mind them upping the goal for a dub so I'm going to wait.

I don't think it's a matter of "hopefully, it gets to the goal." I think the question is when will it reach the goal? What will the final total in pledges be? What are the stretch goals that will (likely) be reached? Rest assured, this project will do alright.

I thought I felt content with an ITunes copy but I'll certainly mull it over. It's a fantastic project that earned its acclaim without question.

My second Kickstarter project along with Kick Heart. This looks like being pledged in a day.

I wonder what the chances are of pestering them to add Pale Cocoon (blu ray quality or not) as a reward if the funds go well above the projected level? I know that's a completely different licence, but as it was another Studio Rikka title directed by Yasuhiro Yoshiura, perhaps it might not be such a challenge. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Who would own the rights?
