I wish I was still living in Montreal often. I'd pay for the round-trip Greyhound ticket to Montreal if they were playing the K-On! movie, which I recently bought on Blu-Ray but which I would still love to see on the big screen, but those movies are ones that I'll just wait and hope they screen at Ottawa International Animation Festival, which, some years, is almost as good as Fantasia for anime.

Really surprised to see Kanashima no Belladonna here, as it's a bit of a rarity in the world of anime. Very unique, with striking art style and a fantastic soundtrack, though admittedly difficult to watch. I can understand why we've never seen a release of it outside of Japan (and Germany, I believe), but it IS a film I hope will get some form of release here someday, as it truly is an artistic endeavor and influential (apparently Ikuhara drew from it for Utena). Is the fact that it's getting a screening a sign we may see an eventual DVD?
On another topic, Funimation, please give us an idea of when we can expect theatrical showtimes for Eva, as well as bring it to Seattle! Definitely been dying to see this~ |
