So he finally won. Also good for "Saga", what I've read of that comic is great.

That's pretty awesome, 20CB really deserves all the praise it gets.

I truly wish manga were more accepted here, it seems that they barely are ever considered for awards with the exception of the super adult stuff.

But that isn't surprising, so.

I've nearly finished this manga and to be honest, I am absolutely astonished. I really don't know how this is still not an anime!

I would give anything to watch this series in animation >.<

I don't think the series would honestly benefit from animation. Like, there is so much time swapping (flashbacks, flashforwards, etc) that it would be extremely difficult to put into 20 minute episodes.

I could totally see it being a 40 min episode type of show, though. But that won't happen lol.

No anime, but there is a trilogy of live-action movies. I haven't seen them, but I've heard they're not bad.

It could've been, back in the day, in a more mainstream timeslot. But now, it'd have to be a late-night anime; yet it may not have enough late-night anime tropes for it to survive there.

What did anyone expect 20th Century Boys is awesome. I also voted on this too; well tried to. I want to finish the rest of this series but I've yet to find other libraries that do ILL.

Urasawa had a hand on the scripts for the movies. The movies are out on DVD in the US and worth checking out. I lucked out and was given tickets to the US opening of the first one at the New People Cinema in San Francisco and went to see the second and third ones.

I got the discs as soon as they came out. Fun stuff. There were so many famous actors with cameos I had even more fun.

Urasawa wins. As it should be. Maybe Berserk will get to compete one day too.

Not slamming on 20CB for winning, but it would be fun to see Berserk get a win one of these years too. Has anything so violent/sexual ever won an Eisner before though?
