There's been talk from Square Enix reps that at the rate development is progressing, it'll likely be postponed till next year unless we're REALLY lucky.

I'm guessing they're developing it and just not telling us. They know the profit would definitely outweigh the costs. Probably.

It's just pretty funny that its just an HD port that's had coming winter forever.

Winters not that far away guys. Kind of should have an actual date by now like most games.

And remaking FF7 would be way more than an HD port. It would require an actual big development team. It's basically a new game, almost a new main entry production.

Winter is winter. There was postponement so far. I think this will release around Christmas

what the original games took like 6-7 years. 4-5 years for FF10, 2 years for FFX-2. This takes like 2 years for both.

Huh?

FF 1-6 took maybe a year each to make.

7-9 maybe two years as with a diffrent team was on it.

X took maybe 3 years as they probably started after VIII in 98.

XII is the one with the longest development at I think 6 years, maybe more.

Then there is XIII.

It's taken a while for something that shouldn't. I doubt it took very long for the Ico or MGS HD ports. HD ports are supposed to be easy money here and Square is taking forever relatively. Maybe they've done some more enhancements because there has to be something more. I mean even KH HD had a fast turnaround.

Either way I said remaking VII is not comparable to this because that wouldn't be a simple HD version. That would be akin to making a whole new FF game at this point. Well if it was a console game.
