Normally, I would say no, but this could turn out to be good if done right. I mean, if it is either canon to the series or a direct anime adaptation it will be good. If you try to change it, you'll get a backlash like no other.
I don't know why, but I keep thinking of Asagi whenever something new is announced/mentioned about a new work... |

Ugh, this reminds me why I was nervous when I first learned that NISA would no longer have a president whose only job was looking after NISA. While that was true, NISA released a lot of titles that I really like.
Now the guy who runs NIS is also running the much smaller and less important (financially speaking) NISA. Gee, I wonder what his priorities are going to be? I really fear for the future of NISA under this arrangement. Why couldn't they just have left well enough alone? |

Uh what exactly has he done that has you so displeased. Xenosaga has literally 30-45 minute cutscenes, and tons of them, its a great game, and honestly I don't mind cutscenes of that length. So if that is your problem, I don't know what to tell you, go play Halo or Super Smash Bros Wii U, the latter won't have any cutscenes. If its turning games into anime, again I don't see the big deal. Disgaea was honestly not that bad, and I am sure they learned from any mistakes and could improve it, especially now that they have a true sequel, and 3 spin offs. Neptunia got an anime, and I heard its decent. And considering NISA solely does anime style JRPGS, the next logical transition is anime style to anime. Niikawa is a really chill guy, who loves what he does. The dude goes around to conventions in prinny hats and is really awesome to fans. Plus he helped create Disgaea, one of the best JRPG series of all time, so he could do nothing to the end of time, and I wouldn't care. But the point is, he is not some noob executive just coming in there to make money. |

Hey, he may personally be the greatest guy who ever lived but it still doesn't change the fact that he has one big job (NIS prez) and one comparably smaller job (NISA prez). Where do you think the majority of his time is going to go? Worrying about NIS's games or worrying about NISA's anime slate? I'm not a gamer at all so I don't give a flying toss about his big job. I am a huge anime fan and I have been loving what NISA was doing when it had a president whose only job was being president of it.
For me, this is very much a matter of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." |

NISA never used to get anime at all, their primary concern is games, not anime. |

Ok...? NIS is a game company. Their US division happens to license and release anime as a side-project. |

Exactly. It's a pretty simple point, I'm not sure why some posters are confused/not getting it.
I should also mention that I tend to find game to anime adaptations pretty lame so this announcement doesn't even really do anything for me on the anime side of things. |

There's plenty of other companies that bring anime to America. If NISA got strictly into games, I'd be okay with that development.

I can see the concern. Might be cheaper to go with their own anime rather than license another company's anime, and thus lower anime output outside of their own.
