I love Miku, but I couldn't justify spending $672 on a doll. I could find much more useful things to do or buy with that money. I mean $672 would buy you a lot of private dances in the back room.

Well, Volks is a very popular dollmaker. Their discontinued BJDs sell more than that on auctions. Ofc for noncollectors, that is expensive but for BJD collectors, that is a standard price.

Volks preorders don't sell out, they are basically doing a made-to-order thing. Everyone who orders one will get one, but of course after orders stop this December they aint making any more. Though that's not to say they wont make another version with slightly different makeup and clothing.

Pretty much, and this is cheap compared to what they were going for while the yen was strong...

But yeah, ebay prices usually START at 2x their initial price.
