Pretty sure that Bones only co-produced the movie with Sunrise so not quite sure why this article is attributing the show to the studio. I mean yeah there's a lot of staff that worked on it that now works at Bones, but it's still inaccurate credit being given the way it's worded.

Anyway I'm pretty well sold. Anything that harkens back to the fun days of the late 90's when experimentation in anime was high and it seemed like it was starting to really catch on as acceptable to the mainstream is good by me nowadays. We're slowly but surely working our way back Spring and Fall season by Spring and Fall season to a little more of what made that era IMO the peak of mainstream market penetration for anime in the West or as close as it ever got. That this is going to air in Winter kind of blows my mind as it feels more like a fall show in concept. I don't see how it can do anything but dominate in terms of popularity that season with all it has going for it.

e: Just noticed the article was changed to say "Cowboy Bebop's Watanabe" instead of "Cowboy Bebop's Bones". Now it makes more sense.

These cast choices are.... Surprising. Still, I'll reserve judgment until I see the full episode for myself.

I see Masaaki Yajima was once the dubbed voice of Captain Kirk. You're not gonna convince me that's a coincidence.

Not at all, or at least Suwabe got typecasted. And Yocchin has played animals/mascots before, too.

Not that I'm complaining. I love Suwabe, Yoshino and 9nine, so these are great news!
