This is awesome *clap clap clap*.

We've seen this rather recently with the Pokemon XY premiere. Hopefully this is the way forward, and will become commonplace within the next few years.

That being said... inb4 nerds start bitching.

That's nice but that also means it'll be all over the internet before the Japanese air date.

I said this before on the other Space Dandy news, but I'll say it again.

"They must have HUGE confidence in this show!" This kinda thing rarely happens so when it does it's pretty interesting. Can't wait to see the viewership of this show when it premieres on Toonami.

Lets see if the series is actually good, comedy is not one of my preferred genres, this seems extremely heavy on comedy.

While its a good thing that it airs in other countries at around the same time. But I hope it doesn't become normal to air the dubbed version before the Japanese one, having to wait for the original(not dubbed) version would be rather strange and annoying.

I think what this means is that they've never really been making this series for Japanese viewers in the first place, so its not a big deal if they are able to rip the American version... it was made with Americans in mind from the beginning. Kinda makes sense given the staff and content.

Hope you don't mean the games. Japan got them 12 hours earlier~

But still, it's strange that America will get the broadcast BEFORE Japan. Even by a few hours.

I don't know about this. It seems that they're really banking a lot on this show. It means that if it fails, it's game over. And I don't know how popular anime is right now in America. And with it being made for western audiences means that it most likely will sell poorly in Japan. Just how much money can they get out of the western buyers?

"COWBOY BEBOP GUY IS MAKING COWBOY BEBOP 2! IT'S NOT REALLY COWBOY BEBOP, BUT WE'RE GOING TO SELL IT TO YOU AS IF IT WERE!" They're going to push that angle very hard.

All of this effort and money is happening for this one show because of that Cowboy Bebop connection, I don't think they'd expend that kind of energy on just about any other anime out there. Though because it'd airing dubbed and FUNi will want that pushed hard, will there even be a legal subtitle version available anywhere? If there's the slightest hint of a shred of censorship on the Toonami broadcast, I'm going with fansubs.

I don't think Cowboy Bebop's been off Adult Swim's schedule any time in the last decade, and it apparently still gets good ratings even when running at three in the morning. This should be an easy sell for their audience.

Huh, interesting. It seems the Toonami Tumblr took off the air date for Space Dandy. They originally said it would be the 4th of January, but now it simply says "This January". Though it seems they're still planning to premiere it before Japan, however....

Wonder if the exact airdate was mentioned too early or something?

At anyrate, it'll be an interesting to see how well this'll perform on TV before it even premieres in Japan.

This is awesome to read, I didn't know this anime is going to be broadcast in US first, then Japan later.

Think we should have a positive outlook for this. It is not the end of the world if it flops on Toonami. It is quite interesting that they are going to broadcast over here on the same day it shows in Japan.

So will have the DVR set up. Interested in what movies Toonami is going to air in December, too.
