Konata as Shimakaze? My "this needs to be made as a PVC figure right now" meter just started blaring.

There's Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku which is a spin-off of Lucky Star.

On an ANNCast, Robert Napton said the Lucky Star manga sold very well.

ANNCast, The Last Days of Bandai Entertainment USA (at 2:21:08):

I'm guessing that another publisher doesn't want to start with Volume 9, or republish the earlier volumes.

@Kosaka: I brought it up in the Seven Seas thread in the manga forum. Here's the important part:

Yeah, that is kind of an issue - the not really having much new material out and its relatively slow pace of publication (not serialization, but how long it takes for a collected tankobon release).
Generally the tanks have been published about a year apart, but that timeframe's been growing.

I was able to buy all 8 volumes at or near regular retail price, 7 new and 1 used, earlier this year. So there was still product on the shelf then.

Give it another year or so and there should be demand, plus maybe 3 unpublished volumes, where it makes sense for Seven Seas to pick it up.
