Even if he doesn't need the money, that's a lot of hard work for someone his age. But I guess as long as it ain't animated, he can handle it.

It took him 13 years to finish Nausicaa.

You're surprised at this? I expected nothing else. It could even be one of the reasons he has retired. Ghibli wants, or maybe even needs to use more CGi to get fresh young blood in. Miyazaki-kun has stated before that he's a pen and ink man till the end.

I expected nothing less from the man himself, but just look at that quality and attention to detail. Miyazaki still has genuine skill. No need to worry about him.
