Damn I miss this series already. I still haven't seen the ova yet...but I'll look forward to more manga updates now.

It would appear that the ANN news editor who posted this article does not realise that the term "bimonthly" means twice a month or once every two months. That's right, the word has two completely different definitions.

Could the article please clarify which definition is actually meant.

LaLa is a monthly magazine (as implied in the article), so in this case it would seem to mean "once every two months".

I take your point. But part of my confusion is that Stark700 said that he looks forward to more manga updates now, implying the frequency has increased. He might be wrong, or I may be misinterpreting what he said. I don't know.

At any rate, I wouldn't have been confused in the first place had the article been clear from the outset instead of using a word which has two diametrically opposed meanings.

Same thing confuses me with biweekly and biannually. And when someone tries to correct with "you know what I meant", no I don't because the definitions mean both occurrences. I'll assume once every two months, and biweekly should be twice a week, otherwise use something like fortnightly.

@walw6pK4Alo
What does fortnightly mean? This is no longer used in the US.

I doubt fortnight is used most anywhere anymore, but it specifically means once every two weeks.

I thought it meant twice a month but I forgot La La is monthly.

Less Natsume is not a good thing. Sad

It is sad this is true, as there is already a perfectly serviceable term for twice per month: semimonthly.

Unfortunately, I don't know of an unambiguous single word for once every two months.

Once a week: Weekly
Once every two weeks: Biweekly
Once a month: Monthly
Once every two months: Bimonthly
Once a year: Annually
Once every two years: Biannually

These definitions are not in dispute.

No the problem is Bimonthly, Biweekly, and Biannually have two definitions that are both valid hence

Twice a Month- Bimonthly
Twice a year- Biannually
Twice a week- Biweekly

Are also definitions not in dispute.

How do people mistake bimonthly with semimonthly?

That's bizarre. I've never heard of bimonthly to mean anything other than occurring once every 2 months.

Yes, I'm very confused as to why there is confusion here.

Google Bimonthly and you will see we are correct.

Semimonthly and Bimonthly are actually synonyms

Anyways to avoid confusion it is always better to say every other or twice a....

Where I work, we have to use these worlds all the time and semi- is always "twice in a period" and bi- is always "once every 2 periods"

I too am unfamiliar with the confusion
