I'm going to assume that the 2.2 million includes both regular and special editions and that about 75% of it will be listed on Oricon.
Which means about 1.65 million copies for volume 12. If 13 and 14 get similar print runs, means about 5 million for next year. As for backlog sales, will have to wait for 2014 first half rankings probably to get a clue or maybe take note on how much the print runs have increased over time. The last news about Attack on Titan circulation numbers had it at 25 million copies. Now it's 28 million. |

It's entertaining to read/watch, but I definitely think its a popularity bubble. It rides the wave of Edginess so sharp I feel I'd cut myself if I touched it
