I don't know a damn thing about Kantai Collection, but I had to preorder that Shimakaze figma. Too hot to resist.

Too bad there's too many characters for all of them to get a figure. I want an Inazuma (my starter) and Ikazuchi figure. And Mikazuma. Actually just want a figure for every Yadokari-loli in Kancolle. Too damn good.
I'm amazed no one has tried a "Cast-on-Demand" model a la POD for books. You only produce exactly what you need by pre-orders, you don't have to stop producing after a while (though maybe they do that just to artifically restrict demand and keep prices high) and you can have many more options for figure because you don't have to justify a print run for each. I guess there's some kind of catch to it all.

Same here. Sure, I may know very little about Kantai Collection, but I still think Shimakaze and her retinue of Rensouhou-chans would look great on my shelf alongside my other Figmas.
