Didn't Square Enix and Bones already collaborate on the FMA franchise?
Anyway, Yeah i'm feelin pretty dead inside right now. Too much shading and highlighting on those designs, it makes them look like plastic or something. Don't like seeing it on Maka and Soul. Gonna see how the first episode plays out at least anyway. |

Square Enix: "Hey, kids love those crazy KyoAni cartoons these days, right? What if we took a popular show... then made it look and sound like one of those series?! Wouldn't that be fantastic?!"
Seriously, though, it pains me to see Soul Eater getting its gorgeous art direction and unique tone stripped away in favor of shameless pandering. Whoever thought of this is a shill, pure and simple. I may watch a few episodes to see how badly it crashes and burns, but I have a lot better things to be doing with my life. Can we get another season of a good show instead? Like Space Dandy? Or Aku No Hana? Please? |

Except the one who came up with it, is the original creator of the franchise. It's not meant to be an action series, though there will be some action. It's supposed to be a slice of life series set in the world of Soul Eater. The art is different in NOT than in Soul Eater, even in terms of the manga. Anyway I'm looking forward to it. I loved the original Soul Eater and I've read the first 2 volumes of NOT and enjoyed it, so it's on my definite to watch list, and my to but list. (Due to my collecting nature of Studio BONES works, and animated Soul Eater!) Also Space Dandy is getting a second season. Didn't it always had cutesy art style in the ORIGINAL Soul Eater Not manga compared to its predecessor? I wonder if this is going to get a complete adaptation considering NOT is ending.

It did always have cutesy art, so I don't know why this is coming as a surprise to anyone... Also the mangaka said that the series is ending and that he wants everyone to see the conclusion in anime form first, so I assume it will cover the entire manga. |

You just hate on one show because it happens to be a SoL, instead of being random action. Also, I'll wait for a proper Aku No Hana anime, as of now I don't consider THAT adaption to exist since it shits all over the source material and further proves that the author doesn't even care for his own work. |
