While I'm still going into this somewhat skeptical it's only one flick rather than a series so I'll be jumping in first chance to watch. Have to say though it feels like a different series from the one about that fat bird who became slowly but surely less and less popular.

Oh thank goodness. The only shot of Dera was from a photo. If they're going to eliminate the dumb bird, the crappy prince sub-plot, and craft a story with just Tamako, her friends, and the shopping district then this can be a great film. A shame the series couldn't realize that.

Wow. If the news was true that Yamada did the entire storyboard for the movie then I guess that explains why it already feels topnotch.

Looks good, but does anybody know if you have to watch the series to understand the movie? I've been interested in the series but I can't get past that rather annoying bird. I wanna check out the movie though, it looks fairly more serious than the anime.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Usagiyama is a nice and pleasant setting and the characters (Minus the bird) all had fun interactions. But with all the dumb subplots and the bird ruining every scene I never quite got the time to sit back and admire the surroundings.

I didn't really like the romance element of the show but that was mostly because it never went anywhere. And obviously this movie is going to address that problem so I've got no complaints. Shame my 10/10 average for KyoAni has already fallen thanks to the pathetic Chuu2 recap movie.

It seems I'm the only one who likes Dera. Laughing

I see, so it seems to enclose the distance of relationship between those two. And I can already smell the train station scene cliche.

I like him too, but I have to admit that his presence in the movie would hinder the story.
