There are so many good comic book that would work BETTER as an anime than an Live Action movie, but they make a live action. I'm glad even though there is a live action Hellboy, they want to also make a anime.
Now if only other comic books would take this route.

I would've probably been more exited about this if I actully liked Hellboy's trailer. I thought it was bad.

I thought the Hellboy trailer looked pretty good. Gatsu's right about The Punisher... ugh.

Yes Yes Yes, and sort of agreeing with what silvercat said,

I think more american comics should be made into films, period.

Like, Matrix comics, albeit, they are short, and already have anime and live action films based on them, that comic is still friggin' awesome, and I think is one of the only (and the first) american comic I actually allow to share the top of my manga shelf with.. Anime catgrin + sweatdrop

Did this anime end up happening? Is that what del Toro's 2006 film https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellboy:_Sword_of_Storms was? It involved Japanese mythology but I wasn't sure who actually did the animation... seems to be https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_Roman which is American, so maybe because the story involved a lot of Japanese stuff they tried to get a Japanese studio to do it but couldn't settle on a deal?
