Well, this wasn't surprising so I'll look forward to it on Friday. Only 10 episodes this season.

It was nice of them to confirm in their blog that this was their final simulcast announcement for the season.

If I counted right Funimation has 11 simulcasts for this season; I am impressed. If Funimation keeps this up and has at least 10 simulcasts each season, I will be temped to sign up for their elite membership for the whole year.
I am also assuming that these many simulcasts mean that Funimation could do more sub-only disc releases in the future. Unless they want to risk it and dub everything. |

Pretty disappointing season overall, if you ask me. Other than the continuing franchises, everything is either moe, fanservice, or Ping Pong.
And who the hell at FUNimation thought it would be a great idea to pass up the beautifully animated Captain Earth - something that seemed to have FUNi's name scribbled all over it - for the giant penguin dick show instead? It's a shame, considering that everything they picked up last season was at least decent. Heck, even No-Rin wasn't bad. |

My big disappointment is that they're not simulcasting the Buu Saga. Remember Kai, FUNi? Part of your biggest frakking franchise? The Dragon Ball franchise? The biggest guaranteed hit? And you pass it up for PING-PONG? Remember Big Windup? And the failure of sports anime in general in the US!? Have you learned nothing!? |

What else did you expect to see? Aside from the occasional "different" stuff like Psycho-Pass and The Eccentric Family, anime seasons are overwhelmingly full of moe and fan service shows. If you do not mind me asking you, when was the last time you liked an anime season? |

Excited about this.
 Will follow it through alternative means so a little later for me than for those watching the simulcast come Friday.
@Stark700 10 episodes? That's too bad. They might include additional episodes on the BDs ...one can hope... |

If history is any indication, it's Toei that isn't ALLOWING Kai to be simulcasted. I'm sure Funi would love to show it if they had the choice. If you'll notice, none of the first part of Kai is streaming on their site either. Also, if Ping-Pong is anything like the live-action movie that it's based on, it will be amazing. |

Considering they've streamed both One Piece and Toriko, there's really no excuse for either side. Besides, wasn't the Buu Saga originally meant to be an international continuation? Also, I won't be watching Ping Pong. I'm just speaking from experience. Most Americans don't like sports anime. They don't even like any kind of fictionalized sports, if the trends say anything. They'd rather watch the real thing. So when it bombs, it's gonna be on Fukunaga's head. |

Psycho-pass was pretty moe, regretfully. It also had its share of fanservice, both "traditional" and otherwise. Traditional through the completely superfluous Akane character (she starts off naive & moe and then she becomes "tough" but yet still so cute and vulnerable and thus still moe!), the lesbian scenes, the "girl runs through the subway in her underwear" episode... The over-the-top gore (that took the show into self-mocking territory, to which it seemed oblivious) was guro pandering and, of course, the inane psycho-babble and pithy-quote-laden spells of "diarrhea of the mouth" pandered to those who wish to look smart without actually taking the effort to be smart. Psycho-pass has to be the biggest disappointment that I've ever experienced as an anime fan. Literally every single work that Psycho-pass ripped off was better constructed and more enjoyable than was Psycho-pass. Hell, the Jack Black bastardization of Gulliver's Travels was better than Psycho-pass. |
