Anime cry makes me sad because the U.S. will probably never see the manga even though we finally have the anime. I wonder if it would be possible to do a kickstarter to raise funds to license it.

And whatever happened to the animated Rose of Versailles movie that Toei was suppose to give us eons ago.

Rose of Versailles is only *10 volumes long*?! That would take much less time to read than it would take to watch 41 episodes!

This is the last unlicensable gem, huh? Maybe Viz will surprise us one day.

I'm still hoping that this will get picked up... some day :/ Makes me want to read it even more with the new volume. Maybe it might have a chance now?

I caved and read the original volumes online. >.< It's such a shame though; it fixes a lot of the issues I had with the anime. But we were probably ridiculously lucky just to get the DVDs overseas. u_u

Still waiting on that movie, Toei. >(

Digital Manga's got the best chance of picking this up, if they bother.

Any word on how the sales of the DVD went? If those sold well it might increase the chances of a manga release?

I agree though, that we are VERY lucky to have the DVD release and in a premium collector's edition no less. I just finished watching the series this weekend and, despite a few of its flaws, loved it.

I'm still trying to figure out why the actually source material has never been published outside of Japan. And no one can answer that question.

I don't think I have ever heard of something like this happening. A volume of a graphic novels series being release after 40 years? I think usually if a story has been on hiatus for that long the creators would just drop the series all together. I wonder what the author has been doing all these years to keep this story hiatus for so long.

Well I am sure this is good for anyone who had been waiting all these years for the story to continue.

I'm sure this is more a side-story type deal here.
