Everything was good and dandy until I read "3DS" ...........

You don't need to bring that to the West.

They're releasing Tales of Hearts R in NA but not this? How does that make sense?

Im still waiting on the ps3 version of vesperia. I already beat it on the 360 but I hear it has a decent bit of new content including the new character patty and making flynn playable.

Their support for Nintendo systems is just abysmal. They probably think that since this game shows many characters not present on Nintendo systems (despite being localized on Sony systems), it's not worth their time releasing it outside of Japan.

3DS? Yes please! Laughing

Would like it to come, as I'd definitely pick this one up.

Yeah, that's what I thought when the game was announced. This seems like a licensing nightmare. Not to mention many of the characters in this game haven't been voiced in English in years (Like Luke, whose game came out 8 years ago) or at all, and they'd either have to find the old actors or get new ones. It's not like Japan, where the actors still reunite from time to time to make these crossover games or host Tales events.

Sad, but expected.

Given Bandai Namco's inconsistent record on localization, this should not be a surprise.

Not sure why people are dismissing the 3DS as a legit game platform. Considering how it's one of the best selling systems in North America, and world wide.

I doubt there would be any licensing issue with the game. All of the characters are owned by Bandai Namco in Japan and are developed by its Tales studios. They just tell the other Bandai Namco branches what games they want to be released in which regions. Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have no exclusivity rights to any of the characters.

Yeah I had that same thought, I mean they announced Tales of Zestiria to get a simultaneous worldwide release Shocked , I wonder what makes Tales of the World Reve Unitia harder to get that same worldwide release. Confused

My theory is such: this kind of "fanservice game" has limited appeal -- it's for fans of the franchise only and no one else, thus guaranteeing less sales than a "mothership" title. It's a risky bet, not worth the money to localize and distribute it when the franchise is still so small on this side of the pond.

Or maybe Namco just wants to protect the West from the horrors of Tales of the Tempest's characters.

Well maybe that's one theory. Maybe if this has release on both 3DS and Vita, would that have made a difference??

I don't play the Tale games, but explain what you mean by that?? Confused
