If this were an OVA or Second Season based on the Marie arc, I'd understand. What's next? When the P3 movies are done, they'll remake them, but with the female protagonist from P3P? |

That is what I'm wondering. I've never touched any of the Persona properties, so I'd be going in blind with P4 Golden. Main reason I wonder if this is basically a remake of the original P4 anime, with a new character thrown in there, is whether or not I should watch the original P4 anime before jumping into this one... |

I'm wondering this, too. We just got a Persona 4 anime. Is this another retelling because it seems very soon to do that. It would make more sense if it was a side story or something like that.

Golden is just the original game with some added routes, characters, and story.
As for if you should watch it before this. Probably. There's no telling how Golden will play out. They might assume people saw the original anime and go through events even quicker or maybe spoil things right off the bat. Some of the new content involves the main villain so depending on how the new anime adapts it it could spoil things for new viewers. |
