I have no idea what the recent BD releases were like, but it's a shame Discotek sees no margin for profit for taking that stuff on.

Man, it's great seeing one of the other SDF series get brought over here. And knowing Discotek, the price is going to be great. Will probably pick this up.

Of course, now, the theme song is stuck in my head. "Where are you going, when are you coming hooome?"

I've always had a strange soft spot for the original Orguss despite thinking that the barely related "sequel" was actually a better watch on its own, so it's good to have the opportunity to pick this up after the previous release has long gone out of circulation.

I'm glad that cover isn't final.

I wonder if they'll use the BDs?

walw: If Orguss hadn't bombed with ImaginAsian, I'm sure Discotek would feel more confident about putting it on Blu-Ray. So just be glad it's back at all.

ZOMG!!!!11

*BLOWN AWAY*

They finally did it...they killed me. ;__;

Discotek's cover art usually IS final, but they'll probably change that...

I too hope they'll use the BDs, but it's going to be so awesome having the complete series of Orguss that I don't quite care!

Obligatory epic theme song link: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YByEqzHIFl8 written and performed by American musician Casey Rankin, who also wrote the opening theme to Sonic CD.

I actually have the first disc and series case for the previous release (which... if i recall, was print-on-demand). I remember... not actually caring for the show very much. Maybe I'll pop it back in and try again before this new set comes out.

Now, lets see them rescue Orguss 02...

If you squint hard enough, you can see in white text COVER NOT FINAL in the bottom left corner.

YES! This is a nice treat. I caught back when it was on Imaginasian. It was pretty fun and I remember it had an interesting ending. Looking forward to seeing it again. The ending theme is one of those anime songs that somehow stuck in my head and I randomly end up singing without even realizing where it's from.

I seem to remember one bit of animation that they reused a lot, with Orguss bouncing off a wall and shooting, which was even used more than once in one episode. It was endearingly cheesy.

Sweet! It looks like Discotek has the monopoly on all the series I plan to buy for next 9+ months (we'll see what Nozomi announces at AX). There's the Dr. Slump movies, Mazinger Z Impact, and now, Orguss!

Orguss is the last piece of my SDF puzzle. It started with Robotech, and I have the sequels for that too (Sentinels and Shadow Chronicles, though they're both so-so). Then, thanks to a Robotech.com sale, I got AnimEigo's complete Macross set, and a while back, I had gotten ADV's Southern Cross/Mospeada set back when it came out. So that's all of Robotech sub and dub. Then I also got Macross Plus (both OVA and movie I believe), Macross II, and Orguss 2. Though I lack all of the Robotech extras, It is tempting me to buy that uber set that came out. But Orguss was like that one missing piece! So, awesome! I'm going to get it! I've seen fansubs because I never thought it'd get license rescued. It's not as good as Macross, but I still need it.
