I'm looking forward to this. I watched Gundam Seed, and while I enjoyed it, it wasn't always my cup of tea. This reminds me of Eureka Seven (beyond the character designs) and that is a wonderful thing!

There are plenty of Gundam shows that blow Seed out of the water. If you liked Seed, you'll probably love some of the others. |

Sounds interesting, and I like the mecha designs a lot, but I never did care for Kenichi Yoshida's rather distinctive character designs.
Regardless, I'll be watching. I'm curious to see what Tomino does with his newest entry in one of my favorite anime franchises. One thing I'm curious about though. Back when this was announced as G Reko, didn't he specifically say he didn't want to use the word "Gundam" in the title? I wonder what caused the change? At the time, he even seemed to suggest that G Reko wasn't necessarily going to be a Gundam show at all, but that obviously didn't end up being the case. |

I'm cautiously optimistic, but that summary makes it seem like it can go very, very wrong.

It seems like a balance of serious and lighthearted in it's plot but if it's not done right, it can easily go south in a heartbeat. The G-serufu looks like a watered down Pale Rider fused with a gunpla and is overall too kiddy. I'm not liking the mecha design. Sunrise where did you go wrong? Gundam Unicorn had nice mecha designs, Gundam Senki had some nice mecha design, and Gundam Side Stories had great mecha design with the Pale Rider, Gundam Pixie, and Todesritter, why couldn't you create great mechs like these.

I would describe G-Serufu as "TOMY toy Exia".

It'll be very interesting to see how this fits into the same timeline as the the universal century. The gundam is an...intersting take on the traditonal RX-78 design. But the Turn A gundam design eventually grew on me so chances this one will too, especially since its more traditional looking by comparison. Regardless I'm really looking forward to this and I'm loving the Eureka seven vibes i'm getting from this (combination of two of my favorite mecha shows). Though I really have to wonder what possessed Tomino to return to the gundam franchise considering the Zeta Gundam movies were suppose to be his last project with the Gundam franchise (though I do believe he said the same thing with Turn A gundam). |

With all these calendars the Gundam franchise uses (UC, AC, etc.), I would think that it's possible that even the Japanese companies have a hard time equating it to what year or century it corresponds to in modern times.
While I haven't seen a lot of Gundam, the idea of a boy meeting a girl and a robot intrigue me since I love shippings. |

Turn A turned out to be awesome in terms of overall performance though despite the derpy design of it. I can't see much potential in this mobile suit unless it has some sort of fancy combat system in it like Hades, Exam, or Trans Am. The model kit isn't convincing me otherwise either. |

just because you like it doesn't mean you like the other Gundam lol. Zeta, 00 and Seed are probably the popular in the gundam series. Seed characters always get alot of vote for some reason. Kira and Lacus just won't go away. Most popular character in newtype. 1. Tatsuya Shiba (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei) 2. Kirito (Sword Art Online) 3. Kira Yamato (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED) http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2014/06/15/top-10-anime-of-mid-2014-according-to-newtype/ But those votes just opinions, older people always vote for older gundam. Younger people always vote for newer gundam series. Last edited by Spotlesseden on Mon Jun 23, 2014 2:16 am; edited 2 times in total |

Well the Turn A design sure as hell didn't show any potential with its looks alone at first glance, so I'm definitely willing to give the the G-Serefu a chance. And the Kattoshii looks alright to me While I would have preferred a more traditional looking head, the design is ok as it is and I grew to like the Turn A gundam on looks alone, so I should have not have problem accepting this new gundam design. But if you don't like it there's always the possible mid-series upgrade to look forward to. Or who knows maybe it has some kind of second form it transforms into later on. |

The design is a turn off for me, but I can handle it.

Aside from the Eureka Seven comparisons, the thing that stood out for me the most in that video was "TOHO ANIMATION"
The G-Self looks cool thought. |

Huh, Reconquista? I guess they've been reading on Iberian history recently, seeing it is a word with a very specific meaning.
