Sad to see it end, but all good things must come to an end. However, I've only see one episode of Gundam Seed and already want to see more, so a second season only interests me more.

All I can say is HELL YES! Gundam Seed 2 baby! Does anyone know what the final episode count for Inu-yasha will be?

Huh? Inu-Yasha? ...Musta missed that part. The confirmation of Gundam SEED's second series has made me so giddy I can't form proper words...
Seriously though, I really don't know what to say about Inu-Yasha ending. I guess...hopefully they tie up all the loose ends? I dunno. |

I seriously doubt it. Sure, some are annoyed by the show's longevity, but I heard that this fact came from a Japanese BBS, not the official Sunrise site and many should be well aware of how ludicrous rumors from some anime fans can be in a BBS, message board, or any other similar online system. Thank about it!!

I'd take this with a grain of salt. Last year around September there was a widespread rumor similar to this that the series was to end at episode 150- well the title for episode 151 was just announced, so we know that isn't occurring.
Also- the show they supposedly are replacing it with is "Gundam Seed 2," a show which would be incredibly ill fitting of the time slot opposite "Detective Conan." The show is far too violent, political, and full of adult themes to make it's way onto the "Family Hour" Detective Conan and InuYasha occupy. I know people are more liberal with these things in Japan, but nonetheless the show is not something I could see fitting logistically into that time slot. This information came from a Japanese forum dedicated to giant Mecha. I do not believe this was an official forum, but a fan run one- and just like in America- false rumors are often spread via forums. The only way they would have a reason for cancelling "InuYasha" before it's over is if it caught up to the manga or the ratings dropped below 10.0 consistently. The ratings have gone down a bit since last year, however they are not consistently below 10.0. Just the other day a fourth movie was announced, as well as there being a 10 second trailer released for it. It is to come out this December. If the series was unpopular enough to cancel, they wouldn't be making new movies. The "InuYasha" movies are high budget productions, they aren't something done on a gamble. They also wouldn't be airing anime filler episodes like they have recently, because they'd have no fear of catching up with the manga. So overall- I wouldn't be too worried. Keep in mind there is no official word yet, and rumors are often just rumors. ^^ |

If it's true, then we should be seeing confirmation from sources other than this Japanese BBS, pretty quickly.
Doesn't seem to fit, though, with a 4th Inu movie in production, and the manga still not completed. Last I'd heard, Inu was still above the Japanese TV ratings threshold for cancellation candidates. Sheer length isn't an issue in Japan. Look at Detective Conan/Case Closed, still going strong as it approaches 350 episodes. It'll be kinda sad to see Inu wrap up, but all good things must end sometime. Hope the anime will run concluding episodes to tie up all the loose ends. Or maybe that's what the 4th movie will do. We'll see. (^_*) |

I have a big issue with that. Seed aired at 6 pm on Saturdays with just just one complaint for parents. So moving to Inuyasha's timeslot shouldn't cause any problems. [/quote] |

I'm aware of the time seed aired in Japan, however- I do not think logistically it would be something that would be an appropriate replacement for "InuYasha" and to air alongside "Detective Conan." Like I said, the advertising in Japan sets IY and DC up as a 'family hour,' and while Seed may be something children watch- I don't really think it fits that mold. I am not criticizing "Seed" as a series, don't take it that way. ^^; |

There's a big difference with SEED's timeslot and Inu Yasha's timeslot. SEED's slot has traditionally been occupied by action and superhero shows in the past (Fullmetal Alchemist now occupies it), and its not meant for the general audience. IY's slot is Mondays at 7:00 pm... That's goldentime in Japan where all the kids watch TV. So I don't see much sense in putting Gundam there either (since it's never been on NTV before, and Gundam's never aired primetime before, at least not in the last 15 years). But who knows. |

So SEED could easily fit into that timeslot. |

Like the previous poster said- Monday night is the BIG family and children (young ones as well) night for watching television. While the shows in that shot aren't overly 'little kid friendly' (Like good old Pokemon and some of the cutesier shoujo series) they are a lot more 'family oriented' than the ones in the slot Seed formerly occupied. The Saturday night slot appeals to a bit of an older audience- with "Full Metal Alchemist" currently running there- a show that definitely could not hold any prime family slot like that due to some of it's content. Violence, a lot of very disturbing imagery, you know what I'm speaking of if you've seen the series. "Gundam Seed" isn't exactly peaches and cream either. So moving a series from that Saturday night slot to the Monday night one is a really far out rumor. |
