This was a very ill-conceived idea to begin with, and I'm relieved it didn't make its goal and they pulled the plug. Perhaps we're one step closer to HG's eventual collapse and the freeing of Macross's licensing opportunities.

Well, that's disappointing. I was hoping this would succeed.

Remove the link in the article to Love Live! as it doesn't have anything to do with this. I assume it was added automatically.

Robotech: Love Live! Alive doesn't have an entry on ANN.

Karma finally catching to Harmony Gold? One can only hope. I pretty much knew a week ago when they were no where near the goal and not getting closer that it wasn't reaching it. I am surprised they canceled since I figured they try to the end but either way good guys win for once.

HG has always overestimated the value of their Robotech IP. Nobody under the age of 30 even knows what Robotech is. Those of us that are old enough to remember have "graduated" on to real anime. We've seen the real versions of Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada now and preferred those versions.

I know there are people that have nostalgia for Robotech and prefer those versions, but I don't think there are enough of those people anymore to sustain a franchise and this just proves it.

We'll all be in our late 80's or dead by then when that happens. Anime cry

wow had a feeling this was coming, when will HG learn they can't bleed out robotech anymore and just let go of the license? I mean come on how much money do you think they've burned trying to get even more money out of the license they have and have failed

Robotech is an anachronism from another era, one that's no longer needed unless you prefer that story.

It will probably be back with at $200,000 goal, once HG tweaks their imaginary numbers, and they "find" a cheaper way to produce the pilot.

Well, with six days left, they could've still made it. I wonder if Tatsunoko/Big West's lawyers went after 'em.

Try 20-25. I'm 25 and it was my introduction to mecha anime. I hated it after discovering it's source material was far better, of course.

Nostalgia goggles are very powerful.

They were fools to think this could ever succeed. And on a personal note I am always happy to see HG fail.
