They're also going to update the game to add a few features and fixes in the same day.

It's free so I can't complain, but if everyone starts using them online, I will be very unhappy with it.

Being a free game, i can't complain either. I don't like it that its so exclusive to one make of vehicle. It just feels like a playable commercial. If they had different makes and models from other companies mixed in, i won't mind it so much.

Indirect marketing to next generation of kids to fondly remember Mario drives a Mercedes-Benz makes me little uneasy.

Mario probably makes enough money to afford a Mercedes with all the stuff her does. Most kids probably won't, though.

Yeah, I read about this on Siliconera yesterday. Siliconera has confirmed that the DLC will be coming out in the US too.

Also off topic: Luigi is continuing to do his "death stare" even in a Mercedes-Benz:

Those classic ones are actually rather hot, but I'm still worried that this does make the game look a tad more "commercial".

The updates are quite nice.

I REALLY hope that they re-balance the items at some point, either removing coins from boxes or tweaking the fact that you're ~probably~ going to lose if you drop back towards 3rd place for some reason.

Yeah, I'm not really happy about this. Those cars just don't fit in with Mario Kart. Do they come with the update, or are they a separate download?
