Well considering I was going to buy the dubbed DVD sets of Blue Exorcist anyways, it still sucks that Aniplex is discontinuing stuff again.

I feel bad for the collectors out there who now have to decide if these sub exclusive editions of these shows/movies are worth the price tag.

I thought Aniplex USA had already discontinued the Durarara!! DVD's. Volume 1 has been OOP for a while.

That's probably the reason they specified only Parts 2 and 3 as going out of print this time, because the first Part is already OOP.

Blue Exorcist: These would indeed be the subtitle-only DVDs which pretty much had no business existing in the first place. The DVD/BD packages with sub and dub are still very much in print. Ironically now you can watch select dubbed episodes pretty much any time you want on adultswim.com.

Durarara!!: Not sure what exactly is going on here. A DVD/BD rerelease would make sense in the future since the series IS getting a continuation.

Gurren Lagann Movies: Will they actually get dubs? Who knows? The model under which Aniplex is rereleasing Gurren Lagann is completely asinine though...

I doubt AoA would do it, but a DVD complete collection at $100 SRP should suffice. Cheap BD's would also be nice too, but the video in the DVD's looks good to my eyes.

I kinda wish I had purchased the three DRRR!! DVD sets when they were first offered. I understand with the BD set, if you are playing the dub, the Instant Messaging text is not subtitled.

I made sure to keep the single editions when I picked up the complete collection.

I was also hesitant to buy them at first (even after TRSI offered the 3 sets for $100 on a sale). I am glad I eventually ponied up $130 for them. Like I just mentioned, hopefully AoA will soon offer them again at a lower price.

Because they already did ages ago, like everything else on here.

I really don't see the point of officially announcing stuff they probably discontinued ages ago, especially when say the first Durarara!! DVD volume sold out ages ago, same goes for Blue Exorcist volume 3, so if you try collecting those shows now through those releases, you can't complete it.

I mean the Gurren Lagann movies were their very first release four years ago, and the first DVD LE has had a counter on Rightstuf for years. The second one if you try to order 4 or more will show how many copies they have left (Around 160). The same can be said of Durarara!! volumes 2 and 3, for quite a while now, try and add 4 or more copies to your cart on Rightstuf and you'll see how many they have left (Durarara!! volume 3 has close to 500 left).

just when i though they were actually giving those that want both version, they pull this bs. they have this habit of trying to stick it to otakus that liked their dvds with both and english dub and sub version. it like they want to have fans of those series to go watch them via illegal methods since they can no longer get it on dvd.especially for dub pursuits oakus.

well i definitely will be skipping any of their sub only releases cause it doesnt make sense.

So not only is there the whole pricing thing, but they can't even offer a single sane release option for DRRR!!, which I almost waffled on buying once or twice if the two options given weren't Bad and Worse. The farce just keeps building and building, doesn't it?

I kinda feel bad about DRRR since those were the cool digipacks with subtitiles when texts appeared on screen (I gotta go to the menu and change subs on and off on my blu ray set to read the messages Confused )

But I honestly have no problem with the other 2. Seriously, the hell is the point of sub only releases...? Like stop doing that, go dub valvrave, garden of sinners, bakemonogatari and all the other shows you dont give dubs to.
