There's been no sign of Meg for years, and with reports on Wikipedia that gímik disbanded, I can't help but wonder exactly what happened.

Yep, that it is a common trope. I think the Haruhi Suzumiya series helped popularize it. |

It way pre-dates Haruhi.
There are so many anime set in modern day High School and also so many anime with supernatual or sci-fi elements that the two are bound to coincide from time to time. Studio A-CAT worked with Gotoh and Brains Base on Gigantic Formula. They were also involved with the Conan movies and the Rockman ZX games, so Sueoka may be a staff member there. -- Actually, the source page for the Conan movie credits does specifically place Sueoka under Studio A-CAT. |
