Unless I missed something, the re-recorded soundtrack is no longer featured and I have absolutely no interest in watching Kai with the mess of Kikuchi music pasted all over it.

I was hoping they'd air the Buu saga. I really don't wanna watch it from the start again...

I'm just glad it's gonna be uncut. Boy was the edited footage on Nick just jank as hell.

Notice how the trailer was formatted in 4:3 format with special Toonami-themed bars for the sides of the footage. To my knowlege, [as] has never done anything like this before for any show made in 4:3 standard. They normally just stretch everything to fit the picture.

Of course, DBZ is their baby, so they're gonna do whatever it takes to make it look good.

Kind of know that it would replace bleach or AOT and cutting down on Toonami to an hour to watch maybe even 30mins

Wishful thinking, but I hope they decide to create a new ost for the show's dub before it airs. Bruce Faulconer is a fudging genius.

Faulconer's probably music never should have existed and never fit. Oh sure, it may have fit the old English dub, since the whole thing repurposed DBZ into a Western action cartoon, but it certainly wouldn't jibe with an accurate vision of that material, which is what Funimation was going for with their English dub of Kai.

Yamamoto's, and of course Kikuchi's musical scores are largely orchestral and bring a grandiosity to the proceedings. Faulconer's hollow, artificial techno-rock-new age mix stripped the wuxia feel from the show and made it into almost any 1990s/Early 2000s video game or action movie. And it's an insult to the medium for a licensor to insert a "replacement score" to begin with.

It's just too bad Kai completely falls apart in the Buu arc, with its green tint, lackluster Sumitomo score, and loads of retained filler material. Ah, well. You have to expect Toei to cheap out, I guess.

*stares for 2 seconds*

*Turns to someone else with less of an ego-centric demeanor*

So, anyway! Bruce Faulconer really spiced up what was originally a boring anime!

Throngs of fans around the world who only watched DBZ with the Kikuchi score didn't find it so boring.

Damn. Its actually happening after all these years(referring to Bleach hiatus/ending more than DBZ Kai airing).

I loved the Kenji Yamamoto score. Loved it. The show would've almost been worth watching had it been kept...

The Yamamoto score was too good, especially the main battle theme and also Freeza's theme.

I just love it when Adult Swim airs uncut anime. After buying a copy of Battle of Gods I had the urge to rewatch DBZ from the beginning, guess that can wait now.

it was even worse when it showed on the vortex on the CW. though it kinda sucked that bleach ended right after the xcution arc. definitely would have been nice if the series was popular enough that they would have at least been able to do the thousand blood war arc. especially since its a dying breed ( where series are premiered first before being released on DVD and not vice versa ) and all. after that series end , there wont be any more anime series that do "TV premiers first, then get released on DVD afterwards" anymore.

hopefully AOT will be fortunate enough that it would when season 2 premiers.
