Yes. It's a very Japanese thing to apologise for the worry caused to others, but having a Meckel's Diverticulum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meckel%27s_diverticulum is something that a small proportion of the population are born with, and a small proportion of those people have problems with them.
