Right, because the current Tekken roster wasn't quite ridiculous enough.

That's one of the things that's fun about Tekken imo. Having just regular old martial artists would make the game boring I think. You gotta have some ridiculousness. B)

I'll gladly take "regular old" martial artists over nonsense like this. It was those martial artist characters that made Tekken popular to begin with, with their authentic looking martial arts techniques, many of which really left a strong impact, especially characters like Leo.

This chick just looks like a terribly reskinned Eddy/Christie from what the gameplay of her shows, so she isn't exactly doing anything new.

Tekken used to be a game where a characters design said alot about their fighting style and matched it, but this Lucky girl just seems really out of place, as if characters like Alisa and the titty vampire weren't bad enough.

Usually in Tekken games, they design new characters based around "whats popular", particularly trends in martial arts films (Feng Wei, Bob, Leo are examples of this), but this character is like "Hey let's make a Vocaloid into a fighter" and that's what they did.

Maybe the Tekken Team played Virtua Fighter 5 and saw you could customize Eileen into Miku Hatsune...

@Running Wild
You also forgot to mention and compare to DoA's Marie Rose, since they look almost alike.

Was thinking either this or Marie Rose from Dead or Alive.

As long as they keep the original characters from previous series, adding new characters like these doesn't bother me much.

Tekken? Realistic? We've had things like bears and kangaroos since the beginning.

Tekken fans raged over Alisa. She now seems completely benign compared to this new horror.

Tekken definitely seems to be thinking that it needs to be catering to a specific audience these days. Shame that it's not exactly the audience that's been supporting the series throughout the past two decades.

And there's quite a significant different between having bears, roos, robots, and aliens and having these new batch of females which seemingly are meant to appeal strictly to the fetish crowd.

The series seems to be desperate to devolve into mainstream trends and transform itself into something that can more easily tap into the 2D fighting game crowd. The females have been getting makeovers in the past few installments to give them a more kawaii anime look, rather than the more-realistic renders the series typically maintained for 15 years. The series' desperation to incorporate more and more 2D mechanics and their associated flash has been rather obvious since Revolution.

Well, this sure is something.

I wonder how long it'll be until Harada finally puts his waifu in the game. We may never get to see a proper English release of an Idolm@ster game but being able to beat up martial artists with Iori would ease the pain.

So... We had bears, dinosaurs, kangoroos, Pinocchio, demons, robots of both genders, guy with a mouth in his stomach, vampires and plenty of others weird things, but when they're adding an anime girl, people start hate on her for not being serious. Really?

After this announcement, everyone in the tekken fanbase went bananas over the inclusion of a moe-based character.

I have mixed feelings about Lucky Chloe being announced but I hope it gets through. They used a lot of time over developing this character and I don't want them to scrap her just because a majority of the fans are criticizing.

Maybe those fans that are complaining about the character are getting tired of anything moe, unless if the character have ridiculously big boob (or wearing borderline skimpy outfit) then I think these same people wouldn't complain (not to throw blanket statement, but just making hypothetical idea).
