Cool. I've read the manga and bits of the LN before and glad this is getting an adaptation. I hope it won't be censored though.

Oh my god didn't think we see this one for awhile, this is going to be so amazing if it's like the manga series.

Great news since Xebec had to ruin another series Triage X from the original designs.

Anyways I'll be buying Gate if or when it gets licensed.

Never heard of this but the music is great, and the premise sounds awesome.

Oh. God. Damn. Yeah.
Now I only have to find out who did it - because I know a little studios who can reproduce the scene spoiler[with flying helicopter squadron shooting at bandits that attacked the castle, with the "Ride of the Valkyries" playing in the background.]

...Oh, man.

I admit I haven't read this; I only know it by reputation. But if that reputation is at all correct...

Man. And people thought Mahouka was wanky.

The title is Jiei-tai, not Shiei-tai.

As a military veteran, I have queasy feeling when I see another fantasy story involving real life military. Looking at the pictures, I have this weird feeling that the author loves to dress up like a special force soldier for airsoft and yet never enlisted in Japanese military (JSDF) in his entire life. It's another otaku fantasy for Japanese military otakus whom never experienced military life.

BTW, I love airsoft, but I don't its bulls**t rules.

It's implied that the author used to serve in the JSDF.

I saw the name pop-up once in a while, but I haven't read it yet. I understand that there's some graphic content, I hope it would be animated with as little censoring as possible.

If I remember correctly the author was in the JSDF or JGDF ie Japanese Army, but when he first wrote the novels they were heavily ultranationalistic.

And when they went to print they were toned down a little.

What's great about the series Gate is that we see Japan's modern Army for the first time actually fighting in combat since it's inception. And that all that money and training pays off when a crisis arises in Japan that needs to be dealt with.

Also since science and 21st technology totally dominates the battle field against a force that out numbers them but with weapons/technology of the Roman Age the invaders never stood a chance. So in essence Japan on it's own can not only defeat the enemy but once again if they wanted to turn imperialistic, take over the entire world beyond the gate and isolate themselves from the rest of our world if they so chose.

Lots of what if themes come into play, about how the USA, Russia, and China wants a piece of this untapped world to exploit it for themselves but don't have the legal standing to invade Japan to get to it.

The story has it all, politics, action, diplomacy, violence, comedy a whole range of emotions and themes.

I love how they only reveal the most important details about her character. Rolling Eyes

This is my biggest issue. Having read the manga I'm worried that this will be censored as badly as Terra Formars was censored, so hopefully this doesn't air on a network with strict S&P.

other then that, glad to see this is getting an anime adaption. Really like the manga and I hope this is a success. Just please keep Pierrot/Toei/Bones away from it.

Actually Agent355 they leave out the important fact Kurebayashi is actually the only expert in Itami's unit in CQC and CQB. That even though you would think oh she's just another big breasted bimbo when in fact she is a one man Army.

And yeah when I first saw Out Break Company I was like this is a light hearted version of Gate.

The official website literally only lists her profession, and "she is of stature but has big boobs." Just like how they list that Luna is an elf, and yeah, she's blonde.
