I remember seeing that this was getting a dub and I said "why?"
Because honestly who really cares about this show? Now I'm amused though, this was the perfect choice.

It's a dumb show about this media icon with boobs, starring someone whose career revolves around cosplaying media icons with boobs. Cute gimmick.

Remember, her last name is pronounced Nigri.

They probably paid "Shining Hearts" money for it (and/or some UK and Australian companies are sharing the dub cost).

They could do worse than gamble that this stunt casting will bring in the required people to turn a profit.

(But I hope Sentai goes back and dubs Waiting in the Summer and a few other dub worthy titles).

I'm somewhat reminded of a recent Shirobako episode were the sponsors argued the casting of the actresses. It sounds like the events guy pushing the gravure model got his way.

now this explains why they are subbing this show, they are going to spend sub-level money/quality on the dub.

and no picture of nigiri cosplaying sonico, I am ashamed of you ann.

I'm a little miffed that Sonico is getting a dub while Maoyuu didn't. But hey, too late for that one. Rolling Eyes

There is such a thing as professional cosplaying???

Also, is this another one of those animes meant to promote a company/product like HisCooool! SeHa girls? I immediately thought of Sonic the Hedgehog when I read "Super Sonico." The CGI in the promo looks a lot like the one used in SeHa girls as well, which is really bad because SeHa girls freakin' sucked.

I'm surprised at the amount of negativity here. Sure, I understand being upset that shows like Golden Time doesn't get a dub but this does, but still. Confused

Dude, totally uncalled for. Suggest you delete your post before a mod does it for you.

Can't say I'm super suprised, it fits a general marketing plan for the show. If nothing else, it'll get people talking about one of their dubs.

[Edit]: see above. errinundra.
