Not just the amount but I am always impressed how visual people's anime collections are. Mine are just stacked on the floor in a corner of my room.

Wow that collection was amazing to look at!Also an interesting read and an enjoyable review about Muv-Luv.
Here are my 2 cents of what I thought about Muv-Luv.I thought the first 2 episodes were very enjoyable even rewatching it again later on but then when the series changed the tone I felt a little let down with how the first 2 episodes gave me the goosebumps I wanted for the show.Then throughout the series the whole love thing was ok I enjoyed a couple of developments but when they went to the whole military aspect of the show it was an enjoyable one I give it that.Especially the battles so much yes IMO.Also I personally thought that after the recap episode the series started to pick up way more than the 1st half with how it was more focused on the plot of the story. Overall,I enjoyed the first 2 episodes but was let down with how much the tone changed onwards.The military scenes where they strategize and fight were a thrill to watch and I enjoyed how the second half started covering way more of that than the 1st half. Sadly no news of a 2nd season have been annouced which is such a shame because the way it ended had so much potential for the new developmont that I was left speechless after the series ended.They released a game which was a continuation but I would rather have it seen as another season. Speaking about the game it's been months since I did research on it but from what I remember there is so much material for the other Muv-Luv series that I'm hoping that one day they can animate them because from what I remember the development and tragedy were pretty interesting to read. |

Is it people with full-time jobs that have collections like the one in the video? Since I can't imagine pocket money amounting to that large of a collection, unless it's been build up for over 10 years -.-"

If that Log Horizon set was a bit cheaper, I might've bought it.
The review, and synopsis, of Mikakunin de Shinkoukei (Engaged to the Unidentified) sounds pretty much like RomCom-with-random-stuff-and-absurdities-that-everyone-in-the-show-just-accepts, add to that the ever-increasing use of the High School setting and you have a show that, while might have some good gems hidden beneath the surface, have a pretty all-too-familiar and clichéd surface. For example:

I know I have a ton of stuff but A) have been collecting since 2008 and B) don't have a spouse and/or kids to support so both these have helped to amount to a pretty large collection of anime, manga, figures, and posters/wallscrolls (plus comic books, movie/show BR/DVDs, and video games). I'm sure people with large collections all have found reasonable ways to build one. Anyway, I really like the idea of a video look at a collection in the column, I definitely will be happy to watch any others that people feel like submitting. Cool song choice in this one too. |

Engaged to the Unidentified was pretty passable... when it inserted the comedy. This is perfectly exemplified by the final episode which doesn't have a single joke and is very, very bad.
And if someone still hasn't seen Jin-Roh, now's the time to fix that. |

the thing with nisekoi is that it keeps on becoming more and more generic as it goes on, to the point of boredom, sadly, since we live ina post madoka universe even being directed by shaft is not enough to save it, as the success of madokagatari made more studios direct series like that.
The only person I know who has a high opinion of nisekoi happends to have nisekoi as his first harem/romcom show, which is why I supose he likes it that much, since he is not tired of the generic developments (reminds me of a lot of older anime fans and love hina).

I just started playing Muv-Luv Extra, and considering I know what's coming in Unlimited and Alternative — no point avoiding spoilers in something 10 years old — the bipolar nature of this series is really a thing to behold. Extra plays at being dippy, in sharp contrast to the angsty Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (aka, Rumbling Hearts), to which it is a direct sequel, while what it's really doing is a head-fake for the alien apocalypse that it will suddenly become. That said, with two beach episodes, a hot springs episode, and a clips episode, Total Eclipse can't help but be a disappointment. It just can't get out of its own way with the otaku pandering. I completely understand this. Pretty sure it was right after those deserted island episodes that I found myself losing complete interest in the show and stopped watching it when it was initially airing. Engaged to the Unidentified I found to be surprisingly good, despite some of the more cliche set-ups (ie surprise fiance, child in high school). But the character interactions were executed well enough for that to not really bother me. I didn't have the same reaction to Benio as Paul did though. I found her oddball interactions awkward yet still very funny and loved watching her duplicity between home and school. That was a pretty massive collection. My collection is definitely building and maybe someday I'll submit pictures of mine, but for now it's not all that photogenic. Mainly a bunch of DVD/Blu-rays piling up on top of my dresser. The stacks are getting higher and I'm running out of space. Then there's still some more in the basement in boxes from never unpacking after moving out of dorms. |

Log horizon is good when it actually is talking about combat and raids and skills and stuff like that, but when it comes to the "slice of life" part of it, it sort of falls flat. I see some scenes in there where they try to be humorous, but don't really succeed. I would have preferred this if it were much serious and dark anime about the politics and conflicts rising from being trapped in a video game world. The current half-plot half-slice-of-life episodes don't bring out its full potential.
Maid-Sama looks interesting, I might give it a try sometime in the future. Haven't had a good slice of life/comedy for a while especially after Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun ended. Nisekoi.... There's not much to say about it. I agree with Maximilianjenus that the show becomes more and more generic as it goes along. The gang thing between the families was pretty unique, I liked that, but everything else was just sort of meh. Though there is a contrast between all the female characters, I found them to be pretty stereotypical, nothing too out of the ordinary. If you have a friend who is new to anime and likes rom-com/slice of life, he/she might like this, but to more loyal fans it is nothing but a rehash of the harem/slice of life/comedy genre. Engaged to the Unidentified was definitely one of the better slice of life/comedy shows I have watched in my years as an anime fan (at least better than Nisekoi to tell the truth). I thoroughly enjoyed it and it warmed my heart with its character interactions many times throughout the story. The characters aren't generic stereotypes and actually have unique personalities. You have the kind and innocent young girl Kobeni, the protective and kinda creepy older sister Benio, and the cute little angel we have been gifted with named Mashiro. I found it interesting that in Engaged to the Unidentified the main male character is not the focus of the show, which you don't see a lot. This show is more about the three girls I have listed above and their interactions are the most colorful in this anime. That isn't to say that Hakuya was a bad character, I liked him a lot. Even though there's three girls and one boy, this is NOT a harem anime. There is no sister complex Imoutos or childhood friend Tsunderes, just a cute couple who have been fixed together in a marriage by their parents. I could go on forever saying all the amazing things Engaged to the Unidentified can offer, but this post is long enough already, so I'll sum it up with 5 words. Enjoyable, Heart-warming, Comical, Unique, and Excellent. Give it a try if you have not seen it yet, I think it's an great piece of work. |

form what I read back then, fillers were production issues, remember that we even got that weirrrrd recap episode. consider this rumours if you wish, what I remember was that: the series was originally planned to be just one coeur, it was just an add to sell models of the franchise's robot as well as the vn ports to the ps3 generation of hardware; something happened during production, so the budget got increased or something , so they increased it to 2 coeurs, they also decided to change directors (originally it was a very green one and they put someone more experienced in charge instead) and had to rewrite several parts of the show so they had time to actually make something decentinstead of super rushing (though animation quality wise, the rushing still shows). it was pretty fun to watch live, like a trainwreck that did not quite happen, somehow they changed drivers and avoided killing people. |

Personally, I really enjoyed that Mikakunin (Unidentified) managed to be a romcom with a female main protagonist that did not introduce any sort of love rival to stall out the show with drama. It certainly helps as well that the show was animated so lively by Dogakobo. In the hands of lesser animators/staff then this could have ended up as yet another mediocre comedy. When I saw the huge amount of effort that was put into the promotional video that was released, I knew that the staff was going to focus on character movement and facial animation. And it definitely shows in the show itself. While the romance is never the main focus of the show itself, the little moments between Kobeni and Hakuya are pretty much always adorable and are well worth waiting through all of Benio's harrassment.

So, I mentioned that bit because it does sound pretty generic and eye-rolley, but it actually sort of works in the context of the show. There's a reason why Mashiro is able to get away with enrolling in the high school, which they explain later (though perhaps it is convenient that it allows her to be written into more situations with Benio). As I mentioned, it's actually really hard to describe the story of Engaged to the Unidentified, because it does sound a little like soggy garbage, but it's a little more fun in practice than in theory. |
