Nice background music that I don't recall from the original English dub. I like it a lot.
I heard one of the problems with the boxsets is that the quality is bad? Is this just for the DVDs or the Bluray discs too? I have both sets and have only watched an episode of two from the first set and I didn't notice anything bad, but I wasn't really watching it too much in the first place lol. |

Going beyond that the video isn't even HD, meaning the BD is an upscale, they really butchered things that normally wouldn't get messed up, like adding ghosting images. |

Seems like most of the budget in some of Viz' newer releases went to creating dubs and extras like con stuff, cosplay interviews & dub outtakes.

The dub is excellent but the video quality looks like shit. Nice job breaking it, Viz. Next season, remaster the video!

Just going to stick to DVDs and if the quality isn't as good, will wait till it gets cheap for the seasons I want.

Then again, why get the clip? My copy of the second half already came in.
To be honest, I'm mostly getting the discs because I've had some issues with some of the episodes skipping on Hulu in the past and for the dub. The way I see it is, I watch the sub online and the dub on discs when I have a bit more time. That said, were the ones on the first half that badly done? I haven't really opened either one because my schedule really didn't permit for me to watch the discs and probably won't for at least one more week. |

Wendee Lee is fantastic as Queen Serenity. She's one of the highlights of the first arc. I enjoyed Wendy Lyon from the DiC dub, but Lee has more of a motherly sound to her voice, plus her acting is better.

Just like KENZICHI says, I checked the BD's from the first set, and I did not notice anything that horrible. Sure, my non videophile eyes caught some inconsistencies, but the people saying that the video looks like utter shit are blowing things way out of proportion. But...
I have not checked the DVD's, but apparently they have more problems that the BD's. |
